PESSAT is an entrance exam conducted by PES University every year for admissions into PES University(both RR Campus and EC Campus).

With your ranking there is a good chance of you getting a seat. If not in the first round, you can get a seat in the second round counselling. The second round counselling is to be held soon.

According to previous years' stats you have chances of getting admission to the following branches, I am mentioning the cut-offs along with branch -

1. CSE - rank between 800-900 in the round 2 - so you have likely chances

2. ECE - Between 1500-1600 rank

3. EE - 2000+ rank

4. Mechanical, Civil, Biotech - 3000+ rank

You can try for these branches. These are just estimated ranks please make sure to confirm from official website. As these might rise or fall accordingly.

According to the rank mentioned by you in the question there are quite low chances for your son to get CSE in PES South campus because if we go through previous year's cut-off trends of CSE branch in PES University then it trends around 1000-1100 but your son's  rank is quite high as compare to the cut-off. Similarly if we go for ISE then your son have some chances to get it if he belongs to any of the reserve category as per previous year's cut-off trends.

In pessat examination For getting seats in CSE branch one must secure ranks below  500-850 depending upon each year's cutoff range.

For 2450 there are chances of getting seats in EC branch/ Biotechnology in round 2.

Do check the official websites for information regards to it.

Pessat and kcet are two different examinations where the pessat is a university entrance exam conducted by the PES University while kcet is  conducted by the state government of Karnataka.

Scores of any of the two exams can be used for applying in the PES University.

from previous year reports cutoff ranking for computer science was around 800 to 1000 .

for your rank there is high possibility for electronics in both the campus.

try referring to the cutoff released from the official website.  There are chances of getting seats in furthur rounds.

You have scored good rank as you can get ece and many more but you will not get Computer science at this rank.

Anyways i would suggest you if you can take any other courses except CSE then go for the councelling because PES is one of the best college.

Many students dream to get into that college.

Based on your rank it is little bit difficult to get into ece but you can get into mechanical or civil

But cutoffs tend to change every year based on various factors
