Hi,

If you qualified the ugc net exam you can apply for the post of assistant professor. According to 7th pay commission the the salary of assistant professors lie in Band Pay  of INR 37400 to INR 67,000

I think you can apply for ICAR SRF /JRF exam for PHD Program.As the option is not available that passed out ,you can selected as appearing also. And this will not much effect .You can tell the same thing in the time of your counselling.
