can we add physical education in bse hons maths or bse physical science (computer science)

Reeyaa Saxena 28th Sep, 2020

Hello. As per my research, it's not possible to add physical education in bse hons maths or for physical science.

The simple reason is that the main stream it belongs to science and so you cannot add physical education with it.

Hope that helps!

i want to take admission in du sol. i have physical education and home science in my main subject are they both consider as vocational subject or main?

theeanonymous 21st Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

To calculate the total aggregate cutoff, you should include your best four subjects. And the best four should include one language (core/elective), 1 subject relevant to the course your are opting for and then remaining two best subjects. The last two subjects should be from List A to avoid any reduction in total percentage. If these subjects are not in the list then they are not considered as main subjects and you will have to reduce 2.5 percentage. Hence, yes you can take but check with the List A subjects and choose. Please refer the below article to know more on how to calculate best four.

sir I have HINDI ,ENGLISH,IP,PHYSICAL EDUCATION,FINE ARTS in my 12th class and got 82, 82, 84, 64 ,84 respectively, which subjects can i take for best four according to DU.Can I get admission in BCA .

Prachi Pant 20th Oct, 2020

Hey

Physical education is not considered as a core subject therefore you can't add physical education while calculating your best of four percentage.

For the calculation of best of four percentage, 1 compulsory language subject and 3 elective subjects are taken into consideration. Delhi University has its own criteria for calculating the eligibility for getting admission therefore the subjects are to be chosen from the list A and list B prescribed by the university itself.

I have passed class 12th by 77.2 %marks through cbse, with math, physics, chemistry, English, physical education. is there any chance that I will get admission in DU in BSE course in any of the DU collages which BSE course?

Abhishek Singh Tomar 16th Oct, 2020

Hello Mohit...

I am assuming you as a general category students, According to that yours marks are not so satisfactory for getting admission. You cannot get seat in DU good colleges because those colleges seats get filled by 3rd round cutoff according to previous years cutoff from its official site.

You can only get seat in college if you are not a general category student because many colleges cutoff marks never come below 80% most of the years for general category students. Else you can check CUTOFF list from our site below

I scored 77.2% marks in cbse exam of class 12th with physice, chemistry ,math English and physical education, is there any chance that I will get admission in dU in BSE vousre?

Apoorva Mishra 16th Oct, 2020

Hi Mohit!

The cut offs of reputed DU colleges is quite high. This year they have 100% cut offs which has recurred after 2015. Most of the colleges of DU take 90 percentile in consideration. You might not be able to make to the top colleges but if you are a part of the Delhi resident quota you may be able to bag a seat in one of the DU colleges.

How much percentage will be deducted from my cut off if i include both english and physical education in best four for admission in delhi university? And, how much percentage will be deducted from cut off if i puruse ba philosophy without studying philosophy in class 12th?

Prachi Pant 14th Oct, 2020

Hey

As per university's eligibility criteria for getting admission in any college for a specific course is determined by your best of four percentage where 1 language subject and 3 core subjects are taken into consideration. English will be added as a language subject. Since physical education isn't concluded in the elective subject list that is prescribed by the university, you can't consider it in your best of four score. Physical education will only be taken into consideration if you pursue graduation in physical education.

And if more than 1 non listed subject is taken for calculation of best of four percentage, then a deduction of 2.5% each will be levied, in case of BA program.

Note - This year no deduction for change in stream. Also for honours course only best of 4 will decide your eligibility. But your marks will be deducted if you've not studied the subject in your plus 2 for the honors course.

Thanks

When we calculate DU admission best of four then is physical education included in academic subjects ?

Manasi Kadam 3rd Oct, 2020

Hello there,

P.E. is taken as only academic subject but cannot be used in 'best of four" concept for example if you are you are looking forward to taking admission in programming or honours subjects unless it is physical education(Hons.). For honours in PE, PE is counted as one of the subjects from best of 4.

The four subjects the university considers when calculating the best four marks are: P+C+M/B+ english (note english is always counted in your B.O.F)
if you are a commerce or arts student then

  1. One language subject, it can be core/elective/functional
  2. One relevant subject
  3. Subjects from List A which includes subjects like french, economic, history etc.

You may check the procedure of how B.O.F works here:
