In both physics and chemistry, you need to first focus on concepts by using some standard book or from teacher. Than you should try to solve numericals problems on the same concept. You must regularly revise concepts.

All the ALL India level exams like that of IITs and NIFT,NEET,they allow for counselling once the candidate has cleared the compartment exam .I think once your daughter gets that exam cleared she would be eligible for the counselling process.for more details and doubts ,you may contact the VIT university
for general/obc candidates you must have 60% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry, biology, and English and for sc/st/oph 50% is the criteria. which means total aggregate in these 4 subjects must be 60% no separate cutoff total percentage of these 4 subjects must greater than 60%.
