Physics
Yes it's better if you know the basic mathematics atleast. Because in physics, in chapters like oscillations, work energy and power, circular motion, rotational motion, electrostatics, etc. you'll need to solve numericals where you'll need maths for sure. I mean if your maths is strong enough, things will work fast.
If you are planning on preparing for NEET, you cannot stick to one book because though the syllabus is the same, each author has his/her own way of depicting each subject. So you cannot just rely on one particular book. You can read MTG but that alone is not sufficient.

NCERT Physics Class XI & Class XII Concepts of Physics by H. C. Verma Objective Physics By DC Pandey Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick and Walker Fundamental Physics by Pradeep Problems in General Physics by IE Irodov
Try to pay attention in your coaching classes or consult some professional. Also try seeing YouTube videos of PhysicsWallah... He explains greatly and in depth - all the concepts of PHYSICS. and once you are done with the theory of physics, start from little mcq books like Target and Marvel
