Question : Directions: Select the set in which the numbers are related in the same way as the numbers of the following set.
(NOTE: Operations should be performed on the whole numbers, without breaking down the numbers into their constituent digits.)
(3, 2, 35)
(1, 4, 65)

Option 1: (7, 2, 351)

Option 2: (3, 2, 31)

Option 3: (5, 4, 41)

Option 4: (6, 8, 224)

Team Careers360 20th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: (7, 2, 351)

Solution : Given:
(3, 2, 35); (1, 4, 65)

In the given set of numbers, add the cubes of the first and second numbers to get the third number.
(3, 2, 35)→(3)3 = 27; (2)3 = 8; 27 + 8 = 35
(1, 4, 65)→(1)3 = 1; (4)3 = 64; 1 + 64 = 65
Let's check the given options –
First option: (7, 2, 351)→(7)3 = 343; (2)3 = 8; 343 + 8 = 351
Second option: (3, 2, 31)→(3)3 = 27; (2)3 = 8; 27 + 8 = 35 31
Third option: (5, 4, 41)→(5)3 = 125; (4)3 = 64; 125 + 64 = 189 41
Fourth option: (6, 8, 224)→(6)3 = 216; (8)3 = 512; 216 + 512 = 728 224

Only the first option follows the same pattern as followed by the given set of numbers. Hence, the first option is correct.

Question : Select the most appropriate option to improve the underlined segment in the given sentence. If there is no need to improve it, select 'No improvement required'.

You might spot a tiger in the Sariska Reserve if you would be lucky.

Option 1: if it was

Option 2: No improvement required

Option 3: if you are

Option 4: then you are

Team Careers360 25th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: if you are

Solution : The correct choice is the third option.

Explanation: The reason for this correction is that "if you are lucky" is the grammatically correct construction for a conditional statement in this context. The use of "would" in "if you would be lucky" creates unnecessary conditional redundancy; "if you are" maintains the correct structure for a possibility based on luck in the present.

Therefore, the correct sentence should be: You might spot a tiger in the Sariska Reserve if you are lucky.
