Dear student,

  • In order to become a fighter pilot you may give the CDSE examination for which you must be a graduate and between 20 to 24 years of age, also maths and physics is required in class 12th.
  • The second way to become a fighter pilot is through AFCAT examination in which graduation with 60% is required and class 12th with 50% in science stream. Age must be 20 to 24 years.
  • The third way is by giving NCC examination with 20 to 24 years of age limit. Same criteria for graduation and 12 th class as above mentioned. For this you need a NCC Air wing senior division c certificate.

The height required is around 164 cms.  A navy pilot must be atleast 5 feet 2 inches tall but also not talker than 6 feet inches.

I would like to become an pilot after pursuing my B.E MECHANICAL engineering in indian government, what should I do now?

nanditamurmu85 5th Jan, 2022

Hi Aspirant,

There are two type of Pilot variants. One for whom flying is just a hobby, others regards it as his/ her career. Two different programs are available for the two kinds of pilots. For the hobby the PPL (Private Pilot License) is available, while for the pilots looking for a career in the aviation industry its the CPL (Commercial Pilot License).

To become a pilot after B.E in Mechanical Engineering :

  1. Get a class II medical test done by a DGCA approved doctor.
  2. Most importantly the infrastructure as well as experience in the industry for over 20 years. You can find the list of doctors at the DGCA website.
  3. Join a flying club. I would recommend Academy of Carver Aviation Pvt. Limited for their large fleet, young and dynamic flight instructors
  4. Giving necessary theory exams as required by DGCA is generally taken care by the Flying Club that you would join. Rest of the formalities like getting a Student Pilot License, doing required flying hours etc are done later on.

Hope this is clear

Thanks

what is the cost of course of pilot?

Suchana Datta 24th Nov, 2021

Hi,

Entrance ExamNDA Exam

Eligibility10+2 in Science (MPC)/Commerce

LicenseCommercial Pilot License (CPL)

Salary2 Lakhs to 5 Lakhs

Fees of Pilot Training Courses15 Lakhs to 20 Lakhs

Student is an Indian, wishes to go for a Commercial Pilot Licence on a Cessna 152 (2 seater)

Admission fee to a Flying club: 25,000 INR

200 Hours fee at 6500 INR per hour = 13,00,000 INR

Class 2 initial and Class 1 medical tests costs = 7,000 INR approx

Ground class (generally negotiable) = 1,00,000 INR

to reach an Airbus 320 rating you need a Multi Engine rating which would cost you

5. 6,00,000 INR (approx)

6. and type rating on Airbus 320 will cost you approx 25,00,000 INR more.

So I would say the final price tag for your (employable)Pilot Training would be around 45 Lakh INR (plan it as a minimum)

Hope this helps

Wish you luck

My maths is not very good...but physics is good.....Can I became a pilot?? Between my height is 52???

Mahara Jothi R 12th Nov, 2021

Hello Tejaswini Buwa,

To become a pilot you need to know Basic algebra, Ordinary arithmetic , conversion and you have to be accurate in calculations and that does not include advanced math or calculus .

So, even if you're bad in math you can still become a pilot (reasons above).

And coming to the second part of your query, you should be atleast 5'4 to be eligible to become a pilot in IAF but in case of other Commercial airlines required height is 5'1 .

To know more about Pilot as a career check the following page,

Hope this helps.

muje chasma laga hai kya mein pilot ban sakta hu??

Sohamsengupta8 28th Oct, 2021

Hello student,

Yes obviously. Nothing to ID although you have glasses you also can be a pilot. Just for the eligibility test you have to pass medical class 1 certificate. The eyesight eligibility criteria depends upon countries but according DGCA India regulations you must should have 6/6 vision. Now as you have glasses you may know what is is that means. For that you have to read the 6th line of Snellen chart from distance of 6 m. Also you should not have Colours blindness.

You haven't mentioned your eyes issues that's why it is quite not possible to go through all of this. You may  go through the link below to know how to become a pilot https://www.careers360.com/courses/cpl-commercial-pilot-license/amp

can a pcb student become a pilot in india? can we write nios exam only for maths to become a pilot? how can we write nios exam ?

Ashish Ramtari 5th Dec, 2021

Yes according to the new on demand policy of NIOS,  students can give examination of mathematics only. You can register for those on the papers for which you have taken admission. This makes the exam flexible and students comfortable and they can give their exams according to their satisfaction. The examination is government certified and eligible in all government and private sectors

can I only give maths exam again with Nios as I scored 49 in maths to become eligible for pilot ( physics 74 Chem 79).

darshita 10th Oct, 2021

hello,

For becoming a pilot you need to enrol yourself in an aviation academy and for that you must keep in mind the following things:

  • your age should not be less than 17 years to begin training
  • You must have scored 50% in 10+2 which may vary as per the Institute requirement
  • You must have studied MPC (https://leverageedu.com/blog/mpc-subjects/) [Maths, Physics, and Chemistry] along with English at the intermediate level
  • If you are a non-science student, you may pursue the required subjects through the National Institute of Open Schooling or as a private candidate from the respective state board
  • You will need a medical certificate.

So you see the question whether you can pursue maths through NIOS is answered in this. You can pursue the remaining subjects through NIOS board.

hope this helps!!
