Hi, deciding what is best for you is something that you need to decide on. In this answer there are options that you can choose from also you could find a mixture of the two to do something that interests you. Firstly, if you wish to take a break from your job you can complete your masters in the same stream and/or Ph.D. Seismology, Marine geophysics,  Geodesy, etc. are very famous topics to do your masters in.
