Hello,

B.A Political Science is a 3 year (without Honours) / 4 year (with Honours/ Honours with Research course). Some of the key subjects that are taught under this course are Indian Constitution & Politics, Political Theory (Classical & Modern), Comparative Politics, International Relations, Public Administration, Political Thought (Western & Indian).

If you are certain about pursuing a career in law, then a "B.A LLB" is generally considered better than a "B.A Political Science" as it provides a direct pathway to legal practice, while a Political Science degree would require further study to enter the legal field; however, if you are interested in politics, policy analysis, or government work, a B.A Political Science may be a better choice depending on your career goals.

A B.A LLB directly equips you with the legal knowledge and skills needed to become a lawyer, while a B.A Political Science would require additional legal studies to practice law.

A B.A Political Science opens doors to roles in government, policy analysis, research, journalism, and social activism, while a B.A LLB primarily leads to legal careers in firms, corporations, or government agencies.

A B.A Political Science provides a broader understanding of political systems, ideologies, and social issues, which can be valuable for various fields.

A B.A LLB is a five-year integrated program, while a B.A Political Science followed by an LLB would take longer to complete.

You can become Legal Secretary , Law Clerk ,Legal Associate/Advisor, Litigation Lawyer etc after completing b.a llb whereas after completing b.a in political science you can apply to various government jobs which is difficult to crack or you can go for masters in relevant field to get good corporate jobs.

If you get top colleges of m.a in political science to pursue your course you will definitely get good package around 10 lakh per annum.

GOOD LUCK!!

can i get b.a pol sci(hons) in Du with raw score of 538 in cuet ug 2024?

Shrutika Wahane 26th Jul, 2024

Hello there,

It is going to be difficult for you to get a seat in political science in any good college of North and South Campus with this score. However, if you have reserved category there might a chance of you getting into a south or off campus college. The cutoff of political science will be sky-rocketed like last year.

You can make a preference list mindfully, try to look for other courses which usually have low cutoffs, and you can also go for BA Programme courses. This will increase your chances to get a seat in DU's colleges.

I hope it helps you.

Im arts student and noww Im in 12th and I want to do BA mass comm. and journalism but Im confused about my subjects that I had taken is good for it or not English, history, geography and pol.sci is my main subjects can I do it ?

Nitin Kumar 7th Jun, 2024

The subjects you've chosen (English, History, Geography, and Political Science) are all excellent choices for a BA in Mass Communication and Journalism.

Strong English language skills are fundamental for a career in journalism and mass communication. You need to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively across various media formats.

Understanding historical events and trends provides valuable context for your future work as a journalist. It helps you analyze current events and their potential impact.

Geography teaches you about the world's social, political, and economic landscapes. This knowledge is crucial for journalists who report on global issues.

Political Science equips you with an understanding of government systems, political ideologies, and current affairs. This knowledge base is invaluable for journalists covering politics and policy.

I have completed b pharma, b ed and now running is MA in political science can i eligible for mptet verg 1 for political science teacher. please guide me.

Nitin Kumar 8th Jun, 2024

Yes, with your qualifications, you are eligible for MPTET (Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) Verg 1 for Political Science Teacher.

MPTET Verg 1 requires a Master's degree (MA) in the subject you wish to teach. Since you have an MA in Political Science, you meet the basic educational qualification. While not mandatory for MPTET Verg 1 itself, having a B.Ed. degree fulfills the teacher training requirement for becoming a political science teacher in Madhya Pradesh government schools.

Overall, your qualifications (MA in Political Science and B.Ed.) make you eligible for MPTET Verg 1 for Political Science Teacher. However, double-check the official MPTET website and previous year's notifications for any specific requirements or updates.

I hope it helps!

hello I have done my graduation in BA (h) hindi and i have political science in generic elective but it was only in 3 semesters so my question is can I do masters in that subject?

Nitin Kumar 8th Jun, 2024

The possibility of pursuing a Master's degree in Political Science with a BA (Hons) in Hindi and Political Science (as a generic elective in 3 semesters) depends on a few factors,

Universities offering M.A. in Political Science programs typically require a minimum percentage in a Political Science undergraduate degree. While your BA (Hons) is in Hindi, having Political Science as a generic elective strengthens your case.

Some universities might have specific requirements regarding the number of semesters a subject was studied. Three semesters might be considered sufficient by some universities, while others might require Political Science for a longer duration.

I hope it helps!
