This course holds much scope in terms of government exams such as UPSC which is the top exam in country as it's syllabus is more humanities oriented, in case you're inclined towards this, then there is considerable overlap of your graduation studies to that of general studies and optionals in UPSC exam, other than this based on the eligibility criteria of graduation you will be eligible for banking, insurance, railway, ssc, cds or state PSCs to name a few, you can also pursue BEd and master's degree ahead, you can become PGT at school level or choose to appear for UGC NET or state level SET for lecturership or assistant professor.
Firstly official notification of BHU PET of 2021 isn't released yet, if we go through last year information bulletin, it states that candidates need to be well acquainted with the graduation level studies of political science though there isn't any prescribed syllabus as such in detailed manner, you should go through your graduation level books thoroughly along with emphasis on political theory, current behaviors of Indian polity, international relations, constitutions of India, its freedom struggle and fight against the colonial rule, the constitutional amendments and verdicts of supreme court etc, to cover these topics you can refer OP Gauba book and M Laxmikanth's Indian Polity, the entrance test is conducted for a duration of 120 minutes for 120 MCQS carrying 360 marks, to know more details regarding this go through previous year paper at http://bhuonline.in/old-qus-paper-2019.html

Frankly speaking, you have to prepare separately for UPSC and if you have a background to the subject then it will help you a little else there are no more advantages. Personally, I think Political Science will be better for you to study. Having a understanding in polity will help you as a administrator laterwards. But if you want to go for UPSC the you can choose any of it no matter what but the subject you really like and the subject which will not be a burden to you. Having a background in Geography will help you in a passive way as an administrator but having a depth knowledge of Political science will actively assist you in decision making as an administrator.
I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
