Both the streams of product designing and interior designing are quite similar but also different as compared to their job life.

A product designer is responsible for designing variety of products from apperal to Fashion products, where is an interior designer is confined to designing the structure and redefining the outlook of homes, offices, and buildings.

If you are someone who is interested in Fashion Designing and Fashion Management and want to persue a career in this field- you might get into the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), or the National Institute of Designing (NID) as they are one of the best Institutions in India for Fashion Technology and Designing streams.

Dear Aspirant

The eligibility criteria for admission to IISC Bangalore M.Des are:

Candidates must possess a bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology/ bachelor of design / Bachelor of Architecture
Candidates are required to qualify CEED / GATE and have a valid score GATE or CEED as in the 1st week of August 2021
Candidates who are in the final years of the qualifying exam can also apply for admission in IISC Bangalore M.Des but they have to produce the proof of passing at the time of admission.

Product designing itself is a 4 years long course offered by various design Institutes in India like Bachelor of Design in Interior designing. However, Interior Designing also involves a little bit of product designing or Product Semantics in the Final year of the course. Product Designing is basically widely invloved in Industrial designing. Product designing is nothing but study of Clay and Ceramic Ware Making, Handicraft sculptures, Printmaking techniques etc. A little bit if these is included in B.Des Interior designing also. If you wish to do B.Des in Product Designing, then State Institute of Fashion design, MS Ramaiah University of applied sciences etc are some top colleges.

when can i give the UCEED exam for product design. like minimum age limit required. any books i need to gain knowledge from?

The age criteria specified for UCEED exam is -
To be eligible for appearing UCEED 2021, candidates must be born on or before October 1, 1996, if they belong to open or OBC-NCL category, and if they belong to SC, ST, PWD category, then they must be born on or after October 1, 1991.

Hello,
Yes, you can choose becoming a product designer with commerce stream. All you have to do is, give the UCEED exam and clear it, this is the entrance for product design courses . UCEED exam do not have any stream restrictions, candidate can be of any stream.
