in addition to that it also depends upon the domicile of the student , if other state student are appearing they generally don't make it to the cut-off with 1lac rank, though for females they relax

If you are from production engineering stream then it is better to opt Industrial and Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering for your B.tech.

No they are not same. Production engineering deals with subjects related to more of manufacturing. For example the student will study topics such as metal forming, metal cutting, non conventinal manufacturing.
Industrial Engineering shares some of the subject of manufacturing engineering. But in Industrial engineering more attention is given
