Is NCC/NSO/NSS is compulsory for mechanical engineering ?? Are these 3 in production engineering also?? what are nso/nss

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 30th Jul, 2020

hi,

National Service Scheme (NSS),

National Sports Organization (NSO)

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

see this is some extra curricular activities and some of the college has mandatory rules for students to join some extra curricular activities to get the mandatory points as per the instruction of the university. however this extra curricular activities has no direct connection with the course structure or syllabus of any particular engineering course. you may go for any of it even if you are from mechanical or production engineering branch. extra curricular activities are same for all streams.

Hello
According to Wikipedia production engineering also known Manufacturing engineering defined as a " branch of professional engineering that shares many common concepts and ideas with other fields of engineering such as mechanical, chemical, electrical, and industrial engineering. Manufacturing engineering requires the ability to plan the practices of manufacturing; to research and to develop tools, processes, machines and equipment; and to integrate the facilities and systems for producing quality products with the optimum expenditure of capital."
You can have its detail on https://g.co/kgs/s239Ab.
The cut-off of previous year in BE Industrial and Production engineering was 16530 for general and 28124 for obc.
Salary would range from 3 to 6LPA however the range would vary basis location and organisation etc.
If you have done your academic course from a premiere institute it starts from 8LPA to 10.5LPA.

Pankhuri Kumari 26th Jun, 2020
Hii!
If you ask about the GME course, the Eligibility criteria for the course states that the candidate must have completed graduation with 50% to 60% marks in B.E / B.tech programs from a recognised University. Preferably B.E / B.Tech degree in mechanical or naval architecture is considered.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

Im now pursuing my production engineering course and have a passion in automobilefield. many advise me to not to pursue my PG as automobile engineering due to lack of jobs and scope. so my question is, whether should I do AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING (MS) or AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING (ME) or go with my core

IMran Mir 30th Jan, 2020

Hey there,

Greetings!

Hope you’re having a great day.

I would like to inform you that it is of course better if you opt for Master of Science from a foreign university in a country like USA or Germany because the demand for this field is increasing day by day except for the fact that automobile industry business in India is at an exponential downfall in a few years from now.

Choose wisely according to your field of interest.

Let me know if you have further clarifications by mentioning it in the comment section below.

Have a nice day!

Wish that you have a bright future ahead.

Thanks.

Yes after you clear your gate you can apply for Mechanical Engineering posts. You can apply for the posts which are available and requests the aspirants to apply for the posts. Most of the jobs in public sector for engineering posts are done based on Gate score only so you will easily get job as mechanical engineer.
