The college provides various courses in engineering in domains like mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and many more. The college has a decent infrastructure with good placement and good industry exposure, the college life in hostel life with at PSG is good.

So all in all it's a good college it stands at a rating of 4.2 out of 5.

It is little bit difficult to get a seat in psg within general category but there are good colleges in which your son can get the admission.

Yes you can take admission as a lateral entry in Automobile engineering. However tere are certain eligibility criteria for this, which is as follows.

You should have completed you 12th with minimum 60% of marks. Some college also accepts 50% marks as eligibility criteria. 

Besides this you need diploma degree. Which you said you have already completed. 

Some of good colleges where you can apply are KIIT UNIVERSITY, SRM UNIVERSITY, MANIPAL UNIVERSITY, VIT UNIVERSITY ETC.

I don't give you tell that you will not get a seat in any branch but there are same chance of getting or not getting an admission since you have mentioned the rank in obc category

There are chance that some times they may take the overall rank into consideration.So you better don't relay on one university
