Piyush kesarwani 18th Apr, 2022

Hello aspirant,

YES, you can definitely do and can take admission in M.D.(Psychiatry) after completing your graduation/post-graduation( or M.Phil) in Psychology .
Another option you have to become a qualified psychiatrist is to do a Diploma in Psychiatric medicine (DPM) from a recognised educational institute.

Furthermore,  the more option you have is this - After finishing the MPhil course, you can start practising as a clinical psychologist anywhere in India . You can specialise either in Clinical Psychology or Rehabilitation Psychology for this MPhil degree.

my rank will be around 12,000 in neet pg 2022, can i get a chance in md psychiatry in govt medical college?

Sumedha Bhattacharya 22nd May, 2022

Dear Student ,

It is very difficult to assume your chances of getting colleges based on your given rank as every year the cut off can vary due to several reasons like :

  • No of students appeared for the exam
  • Difficulty level of questions
  • Reservation criteria
  • Seat matrix etc.

Still, I'm sharing some colleges name in which you might have  chances to get admission in MD psychiatry/MD Psychology through NEET PG  rank (as per NEET PG 2020/2019 cut off details )

  • KPC Medical College and Hospital, Jadavpur
  • Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi

Marks 295 in unreserved category in NEET PG 2021, which colleges could I get for MD Psychiatry?

Muskan Shokeen 20th Jan, 2022

Hello Aspirant.

Hope you are ding well.

As such i can't really say which college you get because you have not mentioned the name of the exam for which you are asking the question and there is one more reason that i can't suggest is that the cut off for every single year varies because it depends upon a number of factors.

GOOD LUCK AND STAY MOTIVATED.

Thankyou.
