I think the eligibility criteria for Psychology would definitely require PCB background. Psychiatry is more to do with the medical field. Psychiatry has more to do with the medical field. However, if you want to try Organisational Psychology or go in the business field, you’ll have a chance.

Yes it is a difficult situation for you to come across. You have great options in both of the field with your rank of 1400. With that said, i i would say that going for MD psychiatry would be a great option at this point of time. Psychiatry is a speciality on its own and you get to deal with every kind of patients and problems in that. There is a extreme shortage of psychiatric and the pay is too good. You can practice in many places like inpatient, outpatient, VA, university counseling centers, emergency rooms, medical wards, integrated into other specialty clinics (i.e. OBGYN, pediatrics) and prisons, to name a few. I hope it helps.
But the last decision will be on what you like better as you will have to go for it for the rest of your life. Choose wisely and best regards
