What subjects do i need in cuet to take ba psychology in mkp

Nikita shahi 10th Jul, 2025
Hello,
To get admission in BA Psychology at MKP PG College, Dehradun through the CUET 2025, you have to  select specific subjects in the CUET UG application form that match with the admission criteria set by the university. MKP is affiliated with Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna (HNB) Garhwal University, which participates in the CUET UG for undergraduate admissions.
According to the  general pattern followed by most central and participating universities, candidates applying for BA Psychology need to choose subjects that reflect their interest and academic background. In most of the schools in class 12 Psychology may not be a compulsory subject  choosing relevant papers in CUET improves your chances during admission.
For BA Psychology, you mainly need to select:
General Test , English because most  universities ask for English as a compulsory subject for BA courses, especially if Psychology is not offered as a domain-specific paper and  one or two domain subject  of your class 12 ,you can choose subjects related to humanities such as Sociology, Political Science, History, or any other subject
As Psychology may not be listed as a domain subject in CUET for every university, it’s advisable to focus on strong performance in English and General Test, along with any other related domain subject of your choice.MKP follows the admission guidelines set by HNB Garhwal University. Their final admission is based on the CUET scores and the merit list prepared by the university after the counselling process ends . You will have to register yourself on the HNB Garhwal University counselling portal after the CUET results are declared.
Make sure to check the updated UG Admission Brochure of HNB Garhwal University in 2025 for the exact subject combination, as the rules may change slightly every year. Also, keep your Class 12 percentage, CUET score, and subject choice aligned to maximize your selection chances.
Thank you all the best for your college journey

Which course is best mtech biomedical engineering or mtech medical nanotechnology

gopi 7th Jul, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Both M. Tech in Biomedical Engineering and M. Tech in Medical Nanotechnology offer excellent career opportunities, however, it will depend on your areas of interest and career goals.

  • M.Tech Biomedical Engineering is more general and covers medical devices and imaging, prosthetics, and healthcare systems and is a good choice if you are looking to apply engineering to practical clinical problems, if you want a diverse range of employment in a hospital, a medical technology company, or as a researcher.
  • In contrast, M.Tech Medical Nanotechnology is more specialized with an emphasis on nanoscale drug delivery, diagnostics, and regenerative medicine. It is best for students looking for advanced research qualifications, looking to work in emerging pharma or R&D professional suites, small medical-nanotechnology businesses, or potentially higher, such as a Ph.D.

HI, I am currently pursuing BA. Psychology honours from IGNOU and as per the latest RCI guidelines it is compulsory to have a 4 year BA degree or a 3 1 bridge course degree to become a clinical psychologist but IGNOU doesnt offer any bridge course or an extented year for the same. what should i do?

Ayush Madanpotra 19th Jul, 2025

You are doing BA Psychology Honours from IGNOU. As per the new RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) rules, to become a licensed clinical psychologist, you must complete either a 4-year UG degree in psychology or a 3-year UG plus 1-year bridge course. IGNOU does not offer a 4th year or any bridge course right now.

If you are in your first or second year, you can think about taking admission in a 4-year UG course in psychology from any regular or online university that follows NEP 2020. This will make you eligible for clinical psychology later.

If you are in the final year or already finished your degree from IGNOU, then you have to wait and see if any RCI-approved universities start offering a 1-year bridge course. Some colleges may start this soon as per new rules.

You can also finish your BA from IGNOU and then do a normal M.A. in Psychology. After that, you can work in psychology fields that do not require RCI license like counselling, teaching, or industrial psychology. But to become a clinical psychologist with an RCI license, your degree must follow the new 4-year rule or have a bridge year.

It is a good idea to contact RCI directly or call universities like NIMHANS, CIP Ranchi or others that offer M.Phil Clinical Psychology, and ask if they will accept your current degree or not.

Ba psychology for ug student in new delhi cheapest fees

Samriddha Pal 28th Jun, 2025

Hello,

If you are seeking budget-friendly BA Psychology (Honours) programs in New Delhi, colleges under Delhi University (DU) are some of the top and most cost-effective choices. Institutions funded by the government, such as Indraprastha College for Women, Daulat Ram College, Kamala Nehru College, and Keshav Mahavidyalaya, provide quality education with yearly tuition fees varying from around Rs 540 to Rs 36,000, based on the college and your category.

For female students, numerous colleges are exclusively for women, although there are also co-educational alternatives available. If you are receptive to distance education or adaptable formats, the School of Open Learning (SOL), DU offers a BA Programme in Psychology at even more affordable rates, positioning it as one of the most economical options for this course in Delhi.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Bsc psychology available in ssj campus almora?

Ayush Madanpotra 27th Jun, 2025

B.Sc. Psychology is not available in SSJ Campus, Almora. The campus offers B.Sc. courses in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Mathematics, but not in Psychology. They do have B.A. courses in different subjects and have conducted B.A. Psychology exams, which means Psychology is available only in the arts stream, not as a science degree.

If you want to study Psychology as a B.Sc. course, you should check other universities or colleges that offer it.

Does this college offer ba psychology honours in fourth year of ba program

Poludasari Akhila 17th Jul, 2025

Yes the college offers BA Psychology Honours course which is a full three year program divided into six semesters and not a fourth year add on, you study core psychology subjects like developmental social cognitive and clinical psychology along with research methods and practical training during the course, honours means you do more advanced topics and a small research project in final year semester six, many colleges say fourth year but that is only for integrated or five year programs which is not this case, if you are looking for a fourth year you must check if the college offers MA Psychology or integrated MA BA course after finishing your BA, the honours degree itself ends in three years after semester six and leads to masters course next
