what is acid rain ? Describe its effect
Hi Aspirant,
Acid rain is a form of precipitation that is acidic in nature and it has elevated levels of Hydrogen Ions.It can have harmful effects on plants, aquatic animals, and infrastructure. Acid rain that seeps into the ground can dissolve nutrients, such as magnesium and calcium, that trees need to be healthy. Acid rain also causes aluminum to be released into the soil, which makes it difficult for trees to take up water.
Hope it helps!!
acid rain describe its effects about 150 words
Here I'll give you the basic points on effects of acid rain. You can elaborate them in 150 words in your own words.
The effects of acid rain are that, they prove harmful for forests and plants. If acid rain seeps into ground, which always happens, it dissolves essential minerals like calcium, magnesium etc., Aluminum release is triggered by acid rain which plants are unable to take up and also they become unable to take up water as a consequence.
Acid rain corrodes metals and materials made of valuable metals and other substances. It corrodes and damages monuments too, a famous example is Taj Mahal corrosion. Important infrastructure Also gets weak and destroyed by them such as bridges, etc.,
Also, acid rain kills phytoplanktons and zooplanktons. This in turn enters food cycle when they are consumed by fishes, which are in turn consumed by birds and so on. This effects the health of animals too.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
what is acid rain describe it effect
Hi Vinod,
Acid rain occurred by the chemical reaction which begins when different harmful chemicals such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides are released into the air. These subjstances rise very high into atmosphere and get mixed with the droplets, and react with water, oxygen and other checmicals by formic acidic pollutants. And when rain occurs, it caries these polltants in itself, so known as acidic rain. One of the most easily visible effect of acidic rain is on the Taj Mahal, the color of its marble ha sbeen changed to yellowish from white due to the acid rain. As acid rain contains many harmful chemicals so its affects forests, freshwater, decreases fertility of soil, kills insects and aquatic life forms, fades the paint color, causes corrossion of different metals or statues. It also affects human health.
Thankyou!
what os acid rain and describe its effect
Hello aspirant,
Acid rain describes a form of precipitation that contains high levels of nitric and sulfuric acids. It can also occur in the form of snow, fog, and tiny bits of dry material that settle to Earth. Normal rain is slightly acidic, with a pH of 5.6, while acid rain has ph between 4.2-4.5.the effects of acid rain could be many like climate change,it has major polutants which are harmful to people on earth.these pollutants damage both the environment and health of people.it also causes some serious problems to aquatic life.few of them can tolerate but many aquatic life die which eventually causes a disturbance in food chain.it also spoils the soil of the forest which contains essential nutrients, hence no water to plants and trees so it causes problems to forests as well.hence it causes some serious problems .
Hope this helps,
Thankyou.
write any harmful effect of acid rain
Hi there!
Acid rain is any form of precipitation with acidic components. Acid rain is caused by emissions of sulphur dioxide dioxide and nitrogen oxide, which react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids. Acid rain has adverse impacts on forests, freshwaters, and soils, killing insect and aquatic life-forms, causing paint to peel, corrosion of steel structures such as bridges, and weathering of stone buildings and statues. Many bacteria and blue green algae are killed due to acidification, disrupting the whole ecological balance.
Acid contaminates with potable water and enter man’s body. The heavy metals released by acid rain may cause potential threat to human health.
Hope this helps!
Thank you!
what is Acid rain? Describe its effect. in about 150 words
Hello,
Acid rain is precipitation of rain having acidic components such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, the acidic decomposition can take place in two ways; dry and wet, acid rains washes away all the nutrients which are important for the growth of the plant, it adversely affect agriculture by changing the composition of the soil, similarly the aquatic ecosystem is impacted as it pollutes the water changing the chemical composition of the water, it's one of the cause of respiratory diseases in living beings, it deteriorates building and monuments made of stones and metals.one of the effective way to curb acid rain is to check the emission of acidic components, and adopt renewable form of energy to have fewer emissions.
what is acid rain? describe its effect. answer in 150 words
Hello aspirant
Acid rain, or acid deposition, is a broad term that includes any form of precipitation with acidic components, such as sulfuric or nitric acid that fall to the ground from the atmosphere. These may be in wet or dry forms. This can include rain, snow, fog, hail or even dust that is acidic.
Acid rain results when sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are emitted into atmosphere and transported through air and wind
ACid rain cause harmful effects on living forms , when it enters oceans or rivers aquatic animals due because of high acidic conditions.
Sir, recently when there was heavy rain in hyderabad my Degree 5th and 6th sem memos where destroyed in the rain, but my long memo and other all memos are safe. Can i get through the Certificate verification process of ICET 2020

what is acid rain ? Explain its effects
Acid rain is made up of highly acidic water droplets due to air emissions, most specifically the disproportionate levels of sulphur and nitrogen emitted by vehicles and manufacturing processes. Often called acid rain as this concept contains many types of acidic precipitation. The causes of acid rain are Sulphur and Nitrogen particles which get mixed with the wet components of rain.
The effects of Acid Rain are as follows:
1. Acid rain is very harmful to agriculture, plants, and animals. It washes away all nutrients which are required for the growth and survival of plants. Acid rain affects agriculture by the way how it alters the composition of the soil.
2. It causes respiratory issues in animals and human.
3. It damages the buildings and monuments made up of stones and metals.
4. When acid rain falls down and flows into the rivers and ponds it affects the aquatic ecosystem. As it alters the chemical composition of the water, to a form which is actually harmful to the aquatic ecosystem to survive and causes water pollution.
5. Acid rain also causes the corrosion of water pipes which further results in leaching of heavy metals such as iron, lead and copper into drinking water.
Hope this answer helps you.
Thank you!!
