Yes there is a good chance of you getting RTU, Kota in upward movement round. Since for Ajmer IT you need a good rank in REAP. And many seats will get vacant as the admitted students in RTU will also apply for upward movement. 

But your 12th marks will not create any effect on you REAP ranking.

You cant refill the preference order once selected in the counselling. You can try to change for spot round which is the special round by refilling the form for it. If it doesnt seems possible to you then go for the branch you got and study for one year and perform well and then change for the second year as there is no change in syllabus of first year for either of the branches.

The placements in RTU Kota are quite low. About 40% of them got placed. The salary packages offered are in the range of 2.50 LPA to 5 LPA approximately. Some big companies like Wipro and Infosys visit the college every year and hire about 70 students from various streams, in which, about 30 students are from the CS and IT department.

Both VIT Jaipur and RTU Kota are good but I would suggest you to prefer Rajasthan technical university Kota. It has a good rating rating of 3.7/5. The infrastructre is good especially in CSE and IT departments. The placements are average but are said to develop in the coming years. Last year nearly 40% of the students got placed with 3.5-4 LPA packages. All the best. Hope you take the right decision.

First of all you need to get to know your choice and interest. Because both the branches are different and have are from different domain. If you have interest in coding, computer applications etc. then you must choose CS. 

But if your interest is more in hardware part then software and communication systems then you should go for ECE.

From college point of view and both these colleges have good placements as well as faculty for the respective branches.

With this rank according to previous year cutoffs of Rajasthan Technical University, Kota through REAP you can get almost all branches easily. 

You can expect admission in any branch in first round. Computer Science may have higher cutoff but you can easily get it in upward movement round.

As the tentative merit lists for the Rajasthan belonging, out of Rajasthan and Kashmiri Migrants students have already been released by Rajasthan Technical University and there is not any kind of concept of Mock round with rtu. The nearest thing to that is tentative merit list which will give you an idea about seat allotment.

For Rajasthan students, the final seat allotment list was to be declared on 11/07/2019 but due to some technical issues, it was neither released on 11th nor on 12th of July.

• EXCELLENT WORKING OPPORTUNITIES 

THE PLACEMENTS ARE ABOVE AVERAGE AND BETTER THAN RTU.

According to previous year cutoffs you will be able to get a seat in your preferred branch in RTU, Kota. Because in previous years some seats are always left vacant even after upward movement round in REAP. So considering that you will get the seat easily. Make sure you have filled choices in REAP form correctly.
