You got CTAE, Udaipur in Counseling.

According to me, this College is far more better than RTU, Kota and GEC,Ajmer and GEC, Bikaner. Because it is one of the best government engineering institute of Rajasthan.

It is established in the year of 1964. It is one of the oldest Institute of Rajasthan.

World class faculties are available in this College. Infrastructure of this college is extraordinary good. Hostel facility, library facility, well equipped laboratories, Internship opportunities, Training opportunities, Tech club etc available in this College.

Campus is Ragging free. You can get a student friendly environment in this College.

Placement record is decent.

Both the colleges are one of the top under REAP. CTAE comes under Maharana pratap University of Agriculture and Technology. It is famous for its agriculture branch and all other branches are also good. The campus is huge and you will find NEW Gen IEDC, TEQIP, TBIC etc. which are government authorities which fund the students for training, startups etc. The college has good placements. 

While RTU is itself a university and the number of seats in RTU are very high as compared to CTAE Udaipur. RTU is also funded by TEQIP. The placements are good in this college as well and you find good alumni base as well. 

Both the colleges are good but many people prefer CTAE over RTU.

According to the notification of last year published in the official website of Rajasthan Technical University, the hostel seats are divided as single, double and triple. 

For single seated room, charge is Rs 9060, for double seated it's Rs 7860 and for three seated, Rs 7260. These rates are annually.

With your category rank, you have about null chances of procuring a seat in MBM and RTU Kota as these both are in the list of top most engineering colleges in Rajasthan and are government colleges too. Yes, you might have chances for some lower branches in CTAE Udaipur and RTU Bikaner basically called BTU.

But it seems like you have not filled it. 

By the way GCE Ajmer is a good college with not so much hi-fi rankings but yes overall it is good in terms of placements and all. The mechanical engineering branch is one of the three top branches there. So it is not a problem if you get it there and join it.

Rajasthan Technical University, which is in Kota, is a very sought after institution of education where a humongous number of students apply as aspirants willing to study in that institution. So the competition is painfully tough. The rank that you have got in the reserved category i.e. the SC category which is a rank of 648 is a bit too far to qualify in the first round of counselling. You may have a chance in the next rounds of counselling.

As you have not mentioned any preferred branch for yourself , so I will be talking general here. CTAE udaipur is a better option among the two. Ctae college ranking is a little better and one of my peers used to study there and had a lot of good things to say about it. Academic are good there too. Placement wise both the colleges are same only.

Yes there is a good chance of you getting RTU, Kota in upward movement round. Since for Ajmer IT you need a good rank in REAP. And many seats will get vacant as the admitted students in RTU will also apply for upward movement. 

But your 12th marks will not create any effect on you REAP ranking.

You cant refill the preference order once selected in the counselling. You can try to change for spot round which is the special round by refilling the form for it. If it doesnt seems possible to you then go for the branch you got and study for one year and perform well and then change for the second year as there is no change in syllabus of first year for either of the branches.
