which is research oriented bsc gentics Or b tech genetic engineering

Arhana Chakraborty 22nd Mar, 2022

See the research can be done in both the fields. If you want to do research in Applied Genetics i.e., how the knowledge acquired from Genetical Science can be used for the goodness of humankind then going for the BTech course will be a good choice & after BTech you can join MTech or PhD as well.

Now if you want to do research in the core Genetics i.e., you want to develop experimental and theoretical explanations of different phenomenon in Genetics, then going for the BSc Genetics is a great choice. After BSc Genetics you can join Integrated PhD or Msc in Genetics.

Now its your choice which field interests you select it & pursue it.

For more information regarding Genetical Engineering you can consider the link provided below:

how to apply for jobs in research site after pursuing msc in biotechnology & process of applying & of selection,.pls , if theres are other carrier aspect, after MSc biotechnology in ISRO

Piyush 8th Feb, 2022

Hello aspirant,

I hope that you are doing absolutely great.

With reference to your above mentioned query, I would like to tell you that You can apply easily for research related jobs but more priority is given to candidates who have completed their Phd scholarship exams like CSIR, DBT etc, If you hold a Masters's Degree in Biotechnology, getting a research job is quite easier for you. But more preference is given to the candidate who has qualified certificate of National Level entrance exams including ARS NET, JRF, GATE, CSIR NET, ICMR, DBT NET .

You must qualify at least one PhD scholarship exams (like CSIR, UGC, DBT etc) then complete your PhD and look for research opportunities thereafter.

So, in order to get into research oriented job and profile you need to complete your phd level of eductaion.

Further, there are lot more different career options that a candidate can pursue both in India and abroad, after Msc in Biotechnology :

  • Biomedical Engineer.
  • Senior Biochemist.
  • Senior Medical Scientist.
  • Biological/Clinical Technician.
  • Microbiologist.
  • Process Development Scientist.
  • Biomanufacturing Specialist.
  • Biotech Product Analyst.

I hope that this will help.

Hey Aspirant

The field of research is not only confined to the MBBS stream rather there are different other courses where you require Biology as a subject combination. Like you can pursue Biotechnology and there are vast area of research, The top recruiting fields in this industry include Bio-Industry, Government Hospitals, Research Labs, Schools, Colleges, Laboratories, Clinics, Organizations, Hospitals and Sports. There is Microbiology research due to increasing demand for microbiology in almost every sector, advanced technologies are evolving through research. These are helping lives day-to-day solving life-threatening diseases and problems in the food industry. Clinical laboratory tests are progressing precisely because of recent inventions. Some new technologies in microbiology are:

  • Molecular Methods - Molecular techniques used in microbiology involve the manipulation and analysis of DNA, RNA, protein and lipids. The benefits of molecular methods are improved sensitivity of detection, the specificity of identification and reduced turnaround time.

  • Nucleic acid sequencing - Nucleic acid sequencing is the method to determine the sequential arrangement of nucleic acid bases. This allows researchers to identify changes in genes, links with diseases and identify potential drug targets.

  • Digital PCR - Digital Polymerase Chain Reaction methods are used to directly expand and amplify nucleic acid strands like DNA, cDNA, or RNA. Some of its applications are liquid biopsy, rare sequence detection and gene expression

Good luck!!!
