I got 82 percentile in jee mains feb 2021 attempt in general category, does I am eligible to appear for jee advance??

Shrishty sahu 10th Mar, 2021

Dear student,

Although the cut offs haven't released yet but the expected cut off for jee mains 2021 on the basis of previous years cut off would be as follows:

  • Common Rank List (CRL) - 90- 95
  • GEN-EWS - 70- 75
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 70- 75
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50- 55
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 40- 45
  • PwD - 1-2

Just for more information the cut off for previous year was as follows:

  • Common Rank List (CRL) - 90.3765335
  • GEN-EWS - 70.2435518
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 72.8887969
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50.1760245
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 39.0696101
  • PwD - 0.0618524

As we can observe that your score a bit low according to general category, you need at least  90-95 percentile in jee mains to crack it. But don't worry you still have more attempts with you, you should try to score higher in them. So do apply for the other sessions.

my jee mains feb attempt percentile is 87.0902315 . can i clear the cut off....

Shrishty sahu 9th Mar, 2021
Dear student,

The cut offs for jee mains have not been released yet but we can definitely predict something on the basis of the previous years cut offs. The expected cut off for jee mains 2021 on the basis of previous years cut off would be as follows:

  • Common Rank List (CRL) - 90- 95

  • GEN-EWS - 70- 75

  • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 70- 75

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50- 55

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 40- 45

  • PwD - 1-2

Just for more information the cut off for previous year was as follows:

  • Common Rank List (CRL) - 90.3765335

  • GEN-EWS - 70.2435518

  • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 72.8887969

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50.1760245

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 39.0696101

  • PwD - 0.0618524

Now, we can expect the cut off for the year 2021 to be similar as the previous year's cut off, so assuming that you belong to general category it is a bit impossible for you to clear the cut off and qualify jee mains and be eligible for jee advanced. However still have more attempts with you, you should try to score higher in them. If you haven't applied for them then you should, the application window for March session is closed but you can definitely apply for April and May sessions when their application process begins.

can I get 99 percentile from 29 percentile?

ayanmukherjee045 9th Mar, 2021

Dear aspirant,

To be honest this year it would be very tough for you as you have got 29 percentile which means you do not have firm grip on your concepts so you need to work very hard on your basics . So prepare a proper timetable and follow that timetable strictly.

If you do proper hardwork with smartwork then definitely you can achieve it.

My Son got 91.27 percentile. can he get in any NIT colleges. pl list them for refrence..tnq

Shrishty sahu 9th Mar, 2021
Hello,
Your son couldn't get any nit's at this percentile, his percentile is a bit low but don't worry, he still has more attempts, if he studies harder then definitely he can get admission in some nit's. If he hasn't applied for the other sessions then I would advice him to do so, the application window is closed for March session but he has still got April and May sessions.
However here are some of the colleges that your son might get at this rank according to the previous years cut off:
  • Tezpur University - TEZU
  • GGU - Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya
  • University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University
  • RGPV - Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya
  • HNBGU - Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University

To know more about which colleges he would get at this rank you can use our college predictor tool:

which top collage can I get if I got 87 percentile in jee mains 2021 and i am Ews candidate ? can I get government college

suchayitaanusaha 9th Mar, 2021

Hello,

You got 87% that means your score is between 61 to 70. And your rank probably between 11k to 8k. It's a general rank for general category basis. Now you are ab EWS category student so your EWS rank will be different. It less than 8k for sure.

With this rank you will get government college or not it's quite difficult to predict us. Because cutoff marks is differ in every year. I'll provide you a link below you can check it.
