  • Undergraduate Degrees for R&A course range from B.sc to B.E. and B.Tech. Hence, the subjects swing between physics and maths.
  • Some universities have their entrance examination, and any potential candidate is required to reach the minimum cut off released before the commencement of admission procedure.

Can I pursue B.Sc. In applied Physics and B.Sc. In robotics engineering at the same time? If yes please tell me about the colleges. Please also tell about the entrance exams and courses available. Thanks

Subhrajit Mukherjee 7th Aug, 2021

As per the UGC guidelines, a student can't pursue two full time degree courses simultaneously. So nope! if you are thinking of the two courses simultaneously in regular mode then you will not be able to do that.

Now if you wish to pursue one course in distance education mode then you can go for it.

But as per my opinion if you want to go for Robotics just go for it or if you want to go for physics just go for it. But if you try to learn the both at a same time, then usually you will not be able to understand both the subjects as well. So you will have degree but the understanding will not be upto the mark. So I would say you should pursue one course at a time and learn it to the best level as you can. There are many physicist who works in Cognitive Science and Robotics as well as there are many Robotics engineer who work in the field of Semiconductor Physics, Nanoscience etc. So if you go to higher education your understanding will matter more. So please focus on that.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

Is there any scope in Robotics especially in India and how could I enter in this field?

Shalini Parimal 31st Jul, 2021

Hi Aspirant,

There is a huge scope for Robotics in India as well as foreign countries. From research department to manufacture line each and every domain has a huge demand of this skill set. Space research organizations like ISRO, NASA, etc, which makes uses of robotic technology and Artificial Intelligence also provides a great job opportunities to robotics engineers. As long as the demand for automation and robotics will continue the need for these fields' job with a high salary will always be in need and in trend.

Since you have not mentioned what course you are pursuing, I assume if you have not yet graduated you can for BTech in Robotics and Automation or related fields or BSc in Robotics. Or even if you have graduated, you can go for a lots of online courses and tutorials to learn basics of robotics and then with a lots of practice you can master this skill and through these certifications, it could land you in your dream job of robotics too.

cse is different from robotics??

Subhrajit Mukherjee 19th Jun, 2021

Yeah! CSE is quite different from robotics. You can say some parts of robotics are the sub parts of CSE i.e., you can assume that Robotics is a applied part of CSE.

Now the basic parts of robotics are:

  • Electronics
  • Mechanical Approach of movement
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning.

Thus as you can see you will have a composed part of multiple subjects which you can see are the sub parts of CSE and other subjects. This is the reason why it is called an Interdisciplinary fields that is it contains all the parts which are involved in CSE.

So CSE is broad perspective subject in which you will learn about the components which are used in Robotics but Robotics will not made you learn all the things that are in CSE. So if you want to go for a specialized course and you are entirely interested in Robotics then go for it. But if you are not sure about your interest then go for CSE as it will give you a broad spectrum.

i got 88456 rank in vit exam can i get cse specialiasion in robotics ?

Rohit K Bhat 13th Jun, 2021

Greetings of the day aspirant

Firstly congrats on successful completion of your VITEEE exam. With a rank around 88,000 you can get a seat in VIT Amaravati campus in their Robotics specialisation. Its hard to predict the fee category as cut-off's change every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. Just participate in their counselling process and apply for CSE with specialisation in Robotics.

Hope this helps!!

All the best for your counselling process
