The packages for CSE in RVCE is very good. The highest package of RV as of 2017 is 25 LPA for CSE. The average package is around 8 LPA usually. RVCE is said to be one of the best colleges after IITs and some very good NITs in terms of placements. And CSE has almost 100% placements every year.

Regarding the opportunities in RVCE, it's amazing. There are many technical and non technical clubs to help students pursue their field of interest. Speaking about technical clubs, there are around 4 car building clubs like race cars, electric and solar cars, a nanosatellite building club , robotics club and many more. In non technical, debating club, music club, dance clubs and acting clubs are really good. Sports , NCC, NSS clubs are also doing very well.

With the choices given above between RVCE's Telecommunication engineering and JSS's (formely known as SJCE) Computer Science, I would like to strongly suggest you to go for JSS's computer science. JSS is one of the top engineering colleges in Karnataka which gives strong competition to RVCE in every aspect. JSS's computer science will provide you good placement opportunities and knowledge. The demand for CSE graduates has been high on rise and will continue to grow. As the stream graduates are in huge demand and JSS has been so far successful in completing the box to provide  it, JSS's computer science is the choice to be choosen among the two mentioned.

According to your rank, you have fewer chances of getting Mechanical Engineering branch in RV College of Engineering.

But still you can try for it. If cut off goes lower than last year then you have good chances of getting the seat.

Civil Engineering

Etc

1. COMEDK 2018 - General Rank 3177 (as per Round 2)

2. COMEDK 2017 - General Rank 2111(as per Round 2 extended ) In Round 2 it was 1401.

3. COMEDK 2016 - General Rank 1737 (as per all Rounds)

4. COMEDK 2015 - General Rank 1448 (as per all Rounds)

Admission in RVCE Bangalore is done on the basis of two examinations- COMEDK and KEACET.

In 2018, the cutoff through KCET for a rural obc candidate was-

CSE- 2293 (Closing Rank)

In 2017, the cutoff through KCET for a rural obc candidate was-

CSE- 1611 (Closing Rank)

Out of the eligible candidates, 76% were placed. 

Minimum Package- 3.25 LPA

Maximum Package- 8.35 LPA

Average Package- 4.69 LPA

In 2017, for all branches,

377 offers were made for up to 4 LPA.

295 offers were made between 4 to 6 LPA.

197 offers were made between 6 to 8 LPA.

155 offers were made between 8 to 12 LPA.

50 offers were made between 12 to 14 LPA.

73 offers were made above 14 LPA.

Total 1147 offers were made in all branches.
