The Btech programs for SVNIT Surat are done through JOSAA counselling which is presently taking place. So a candidate had to register themselves to be able to participate. Well to answer your question  No there is no reservation for the students of Dadar and Nagar Haveli students in SVNIT Surat. However they do have reservation for such students in NIT Goa and so you have 10% seats reserved for Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Dadar and Nagar Haveli

See both the colleges are good but not Calicut is slightly better than nit Surat. Now between VLSI and EDT. EDT is basically a specialisation offered by nit Calicut . Most parts are sahted with VLSI . So either of it is good.
