I am 12th passed (Science stream) student in 2025. How to am I admit to D. pharma course at Women Polytechnic College, Hooghly?

Mahima Sinha 16th Jul, 2025

For admission to the D.Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy) program at a Women’s Polytechnic in West Bengal in 2025, the following structured process applies:

  • 1. Eligibility Criteria

- Applicants must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2025.

- Successful completion of the 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Mathematics is compulsory. Vocational streams are not accepted.

- A minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the required science subjects (PCB/PCM) is necessary; for reserved categories, the threshold is 40%.

  • 2. Admission Process Based on Merit

- The JEXPO entrance examination has been discontinued for 2025 admissions.

- Selection is based solely on 12th-grade board examination scores, as reflected in the West Bengal D.Pharm merit list.

- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for counselling and seat allotment at participating Women’s Polytechnic institutes.

  • 3. Application via WBCAP

- The West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) for diploma courses commenced on June 17, 2025.

- Applicants must register online, upload necessary documents (such as mark sheets, age proof, identity, and domicile certificates), and select preferred institutes, including Women’s Polytechnic options.

- The application fee is Rs500 for general category candidates and Rs200 for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories.

  • 4. Counselling and Seat Allotment

- Merit lists will be published on the WBCAP portal.

- Candidates allotted seats must attend document verification and counselling at the designated Women’s Polytechnic (for example, Women’s Polytechnic, Hooghly, which accepts WBCHSE/CBSE results).

- There is no separate entrance examination; admission is strictly based on merit in board examinations.

  • 5. Required Documents for Counselling

- Class 10 and 12 marksheets and passing certificates

- WBCAP allotment letter and application fee receipt

- Domicile or Bengal residence proof

- Category certificate (if applicable)

- Recent passport-sized photographs

- Medical fitness certificate and anti-ragging affidavit (if required)

  • Example: Women’s Polytechnic, Hooghly

- Offers a two-year D.Pharm program with approximately 40–60 seats.

- Admission is determined by merit in the WBCHSE or CBSE 12th board examinations.

  • Recommended next steps

1. Register on the WBCAP portal promptly.

2. Monitor your merit rank after its publication.

3. Prepare all required documents for counselling.

4. Pay the institute admission fee and begin your D.Pharm studies at the selected Women’s Polytechnic.

can i do master in architecture or civil after BSC science

harsh singh 13th May, 2025

After a B.Sc. in Science, you generally cannot directly pursue a Master's in Architecture (M.Arch) or Civil Engineering (M.Tech/M.E.), because:

1. M.Arch (Master of Architecture)

Eligibility: Usually requires a B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) degree.

Why not B.Sc.? Architecture is a professional course with design, planning, and structural elements not covered in B.Sc. Science.

2. M.Tech/M.E. in Civil Engineering

Eligibility: Typically requires a B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.

Why not B.Sc.? Civil Engineering involves technical and engineering subjects not included in a B.Sc. Science curriculum.

i am a MSc Forensic Science post graduate. will I get admission in MTech cyber security and cyber Forensic??? can you suggest me some universities wheather i can do it part time ?

Chelsie G 18th Aug, 2025

Yes, with an MSc in Forensic Science, you may get admission in MTech Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics, but eligibility depends on the university. Most require a CS ,IT,ECE background, though some accept forensic or related fields. You can check NFSU, Amity University, Christ University, and some IITs or NITs. For part time, options like NFSU weekend programs, IGNOU, and PG Diplomas in Cyber Security are available. If direct entry is tough, doing a PG Diploma/Certification in Cyber Security can help strengthen your profile for MTech.
