1st category: 85% of total seats are filled upon by the JEE mains marks and the 12th marks.

2nd category: Remaining 15% of the seats are filled only based upon the marks secured in the 12th grade or PUC or intermediate 2nd year or any other equivalent boards.

You have secured 98%, a very good percentage in 12th standard and your JEE percentile is 89.6, which is quite good.

So, you can claim a seat in category 2 , but only 15% of the seats are filled through it. If luck praises you, you can also get a seat through category 1 also.

SASTRA University has commenced the application process for B.Tech 2020 admissions. Since no entrance examination will be conducted, the admissions will be done on the basis of JEE Main scores (for 70% seats) and 12th standard scores (for 30% seats). Candidates do not need to submit two separate applications.

Eligibility Criteria,

• Should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology recognized by any state or central board.

• The candidates should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology obtained in a single sitting.

Sastra University does not give admission on the basis of JEE Mains only it also consider the Board Percentage. There is no minimum percentile required as such. It is based on 12th percentage and JEE Mains marks.

They prepare their own merit list on the basis of 2 criteria:

1. In the first slot, 70% of seats are allotted and  admissions are given by taking 25% weightage of JEE Mains and 75% of Boards.
2. In the second slot, the remaining 30% of seats are allotted and admissions are given on the basis of Boards marks only.

There are majorly two modes of admission in BTech program at Sastra University which includes either based upon jee main+ 12th boards score or entirely on board's score. Look there is no cutoffs or minimum score criteria required for getting a seat and the admission procedure is completely done on merit basis through a counselling process.
