According to the placement cell of the university which is efficiently working since the inception of the university and many students who have good results have employed in some social organisations/NGOs as analyst or government sectors or teachers in colleges and Universities after doing PHD and higher degrees. Hope you are doing great. Yes, you have PhD course in Sociology and it is of the duration of 3 years. The basic eligibility for that is to have a master's degree from any of the university recognized by UGC and can be equivalent qualification  thereto in sociology. And a minimum of 55% marks needed to qualify any central or university level examination. You have different national level examinations such as  GATE / SLET/UGC NET / UGC CSIR NET  or any other  University entrance exam for the providing admissions  for Ph.D. in Sociology. Few will also be taking on the basis of Merit and it depends accordingly.
