One of friend got an overall rank 105 and OBC RANK 51 in BHU MSc soil sciences : soil and water conservation. Can he get admission in BHU

Aashiketa 29th Dec, 2021

Hi, it really depends on what they wish to take. There are very high chances of getting an admission in one of the branches in Banaras Hindu University. They might not get the most competitive seat but they are highly likely to get seats in whichever specialization they want. If you still have doubts feel free to comment. Hope this helps.

few differences between clayey soil and sandy soil.

Apoorva Student Expert 14th Apr, 2020

Hello dear student,

The main difference between clay soils and sandy sandy soil is water retention capacity. Or key factor you can call us water permeability.

Sandy soils are highly permeable to water while clay soils have low water permeability.

While there are other differences too

  • The particle size of clayey soil is higher in comparison to other one
  • Particles are tightly packed in clayey soil while loosely packed in sandy soil
  • Clayey soil can hold good amount of water while sandy is loose so it cannot
  • Clayey soil is heavy in weight because of water retention capacity while sandy is lighter in weight
  • Clayey soil is good for the growth of the crops while sandy is not suitable for this purpose.

I hope this was helpful to you

Thank you
