How many EWS seats are there in IIT Bombay, SP Jain and in NITIE? Also any concession in fee for EWS people? Thanks in advance.

Mahima Shukla 17th Dec, 2019

Hello,

IIT Bombay has decided to introduce the quota for EWS in  general category in two phases. They are planning to provide 10% quota to EWS whereas SP jain and NITIE offers reservations which are provided by the government.

There is no such concession given in fees for EWS people but in case your family income is less than 2lakhs per year, then you can fill a scholarship form for concession in fees.

My graduation score is less than 60%, if my cat score is very good and If I have 15 months of work experience, can i get into new IIMs, SP jain mumbai, NITIE mumbai or any top B school in India?

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 28th Nov, 2019
Hello.
For your kind information i am informing you that IIM takes weightage of your class 10,class 12 , graduation and CAT, by which they judge you that how much persistence you are and are you finisher or not, depending on different IIM's the weightage of your academic vary from 30%-50%. Where sometimes weightage of your graduation vary from 10%-20% and if you want a call letter from new IIM's then firstly you should have a good academic score if you don't have in graduation then need to have in class 10,10+2 and your chances will come true through your CAT score, yes you can have chances of having call letter from new IIM's but for being at a safer side you need to have 98.xxxxxx- 99.xxxxxx percentile in CAT exam and your work experience will also judge your reality , but you will be judge first on the basis of your academics and CAT score .
Best of luck.

in 10th-64%, 12th-70%, Graduation-50%, cat-85% can I get call from spjimr, Mumbai

rehan18alam Student Expert 7th Nov, 2019

Dear aspirant,

With your graduation score and 10th score you might not be able to get a call from SPJIMR, and for that matter you will not be able to get any calls from the colleges which selects candidates on their previous academic performance.

Moreover, most of the recruiters and the B Schools have the minimum marks requirement to be 60% throughout.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

10/12/Grad: 95/89.9/80 with no work experience or versatile extra-curricular profile as such. What are the chances of getting an early interview call from SPJIMR? (given that I cross the 85 percentile mark in CAT)

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 16th Oct, 2019

SPIJMR considers the following factors for their selection process:

  • Overall Profile
  • Academic background
  • Work experience
  • Entrance scores
  • Versatility and achievements

Now work experience is not mandatory for this programme. Versatility does matter but if you can make atleast 90 percentile in CAT, you should  be able to get into the first list with your academic profile.
