you should have below 50k to get genetic engineering to get seat while you can go by direct make sure i have given complete details of the admisson to your branch
B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Tech Biomedical Engineering and B.Tech Genetic Engineering:
Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM / PCB
(i) Passed
According to last year cut off your rank must be around 70000 to get admission in ramapuram campus.For CS branch you need 65000 rank.There must be category relaxation also.

If you quality them all your priority should in between BITS, NIT's and IIT's. Further your preference will depend on branch and college you want. As soon as you get result, you have to start making choices.

It depends on Ranking of SRM, if it in the Range of (0-30,000) Then you will get placed in SRM, KTR campus in genetics .
