Hello,

See, today the definition of education has changed a lot, I mean many years back the scope of distance learning wasn't even known to all, and there were many apprehension as well, as long as the university from which you're pursuing graduation or any other higher studies, if it's recognized and your degree is valid, you can appear for any government exams if you fulfill the other eligibility criteria, people opt for distance learning for a reason, and it helps in many ways, nowadays even private companies recruit people from these open universities, so it depends on what path you want to follow, if it's solely government jobs then yes, you can consider IGNOU, DU SOL, NSOU to name a few, and the spare time which you get you can use for preparation of the exams, however you need to be highly focused, dedicated, and disciplined in order to succeed, else there will be plenty of time in case you're not doing anything, so you have to utilize your time well, and accordingly take decision, when it comes to preparation for government exams  there are various YouTube channels which you can help you regarding this, firstly be acquainted with the exam pattern, syllabus, have limited resources, go through previous year papers in order to know more about exam.
