How we get admission in Stanford university.

Krushnalee Surve 29th May, 2019
Hello Shivang,

Stanford is among the best colleges in USA. It only has a 5% acceptance rate and is extremely difficult to get into. However, if you try hard enough, nothing is impossible.

For an admission in Stanford you must have a very good academic record along with a good SAT or GRE score. Along with GRE or SAT you must also give a test for language proficiency in English which is either IELTS or TOEFL.

Make sure you have a good score on the English proficiency test as well.

Hope this helped solve your query,

How to get admission in Stanford university from India for M.Tech?Whats the eligibility criteria, requirements, qualifications, fees?

Asiya 31st Mar, 2019

Stanford University

Stanford University is one of the most prestigious institutions in the United States. While getting into Stanford is very tough, there are definite rules to Stanford admissions. Using these rules to your advantage will greatly increase your chances of getting in.

The first and foremost, an academic institution, so you need to have spectacular academics to get in. The 25th percentile score of admitted students is as high as a 1400 (SAT) or 31 (ACT). This means that the vast majority (75%) of Stanford students get above these scores, and those attending with scores lower than these are superstars who make up for their scores in other ways. The 75th percentile of Stanford scores is 1560 (SAT) or 34 (ACT), so if you are above this, you can presume your test scores are sufficient.

Why isn’t Stanford just looking for students with the highest scores? The first reason is simple numbers — there are just too many students with stellar academics. The average ACT score for a Stanford student is 34 — thus Stanford considers this score or higher stellar.

HOW CAN i get admission in Stanford university for BA in english literature...???

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 15th Feb, 2019
Dear Anjali, within Stanford you have English Majors and Minors both which are  BA degree. To be eligible for that course, you need to score good in TOEFL. This is a 4 year, full time course with a tution fees of 14,500 Pounds approximately. However for September 2019 intake, the deadline has been closed.
For the next intake, you need to be ready. You will need absolutely too good grades to get into Stanford. You can apply to Stanford either through Coalition Application or Common Application.
When you apply to Stanford, you apply to the University as whole and not for any particular course or Department. So it is important to mention your preferred majors and interests.
Along with that you will need a strong Statement of Purpose, outstanding essays and Recommendation letters. You will need to keep your school report, Counsellor letter of recommendation, Official transcripts and Letters of recommendation from atleast 2 teachers handy. Any co-curricular activities can be recorded under Optional Art Portfolio.
The Coalition Application/Common Application will have personal essay prompts followed by Stanford questions. You need to write an essay between 300-400 words and not beyond 500-550 words. Then there is Stanford Short Essay Questions which need to be answered in a minimum of 100 words and not beyond 250 words.
Then there is Standardised Testing which tests your accademic preparedness. While no score is minimum, no score guarantees you a seat either.
All the Official Transcripts from Class 9 to 12 need to be submitted either by a Councellor or school officials. You can use the Coalition/Common Applucation to submit these documents. Then there is an optional Interview. This will be a conversation that you will have with an Alumnin of Stanford to clear your doubts and he/she will check what difference can your application to Stanford make.
Finally, you are informed about your Application status.

I want to pursue Ms in embedded systems in Stanford University (U.S). What should I do to be selected. Present I m pursuing my B.E 2nd year.

sampath kumar 27th Sep, 2018

You have to maintain CGPA minimum above 8.5. Prepare for GRE from famous websites like Magoosh, princeton etc., you have to score more than 325 to go into stanford. you have to make two documents called SOP(Statement of purpose), LOR(letter of Recommendation) both have to be very attractive and effective. SOP means why you want emdedded systems in stanford university and LOR has to be written by someone who has any PHDs related to Embedded systems or someone who did some research on that topic. It is better if the person has some good name and image. It is better if u do some projects on embedded systems and write some research paper on embedded systems. After GRE you have to write IELTS/TOEFL , for IELTS 7.0 is minimum score required and for GRE 100 is minimum score required.

All the best!
