I think opting for Bsc is not bad at all as it will act as a backup plan. But if you are really interested in engineering then i would suggest you to drop a year and prepare thoroughly for the exam. Considering the fact

You are dropper means you have already passed and are not pursuing any course right now.

You need to choose code 3 if you have passed from AP state board.
