Ews is a part of general category only and eligibility criteria for EWS is same as that of general category i.e to be eligible you must have passed in English and in both the theory and practical of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50 %

see state board books of wbhse is standard , however you need to have grip over english and need to understand the terms, often students get confused of questions when ever attempting in english version papers, however it would be best if you follow arihant mcq books for practicing
