• Age Limit: The candidate must be 21 Years to 30 Years as on 01.04.2020 i.e. candidates must have been born between 02.04.1990 and 01.04.1999 (both dates inclusive)
• Educational Qualification: The candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Candidates with Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.08.2020. Candidates with Chartered Accountant certification may also apply.
SBI PO Selection Procedure: Important Points
The candidates should keep in mind the following points related to the SBI PO selection process:
• Biometric Verification: To ensure an error-free and secure selection procedure for SBI PO 2020, the bank may digitally capture the thumb impression of the candidate. This is done to verify the genuineness of the candidates. Any inconsistency in the biometric verification will lead to rejection of the candidature and punitive legal actions. Candidates are thus advised not to apply any kind of external matter like ink, mehandi, chemical etc. on their hands.
• Number of Attempts: The maximum number of chances are fixed for each category. Candidates who have used up all the chances are not eligible to apply. Appearing in Preliminary Exam is not counted as an attempt but appearing in Mains Exam is counted.
see once you complete your graduation course in any discipline you are eligible to give ssc cgl, rbi assistant, sbi po, sbi clerk etc exams. however data science deals with statistics and it has good career scope in mncs companies,. but for government sector , there is less recruitment now for data science specialist. however data science includes topics like statistics, probability, set theory and discreet mathematics. so you should take bsc in data science if you have eagerness to learnt these courses.
Dear Aspirant,
Here is a list of skills which are vital to be a statistician:
Hope this helps. All the best!
Each field has its own work load. Whichever field we choose, we think the work load to be maximum in that field. But the thing is Work load in B.Stat or B.Sc (Statistics) is really more than the other fields. Since this is one of the branches of Mathematics, it requires more time than others (more work load than others).
Don't loose your hope to pursue B.Stat or B.Sc (Statistics) because of Work load being more and anything like this because whichever field you will choose other than Statistics, you will feel that the work load is more than others, etc..
Once you decided to pursue your career with Statistics, No one is going to stop you, no work load will stop you to do so.
You wanted some information about syllabus, So, I am providing you the official syllabus pdf link of Indian Statistical Institute, B.Stat Course (One of the reputed Institutes in India to pursue Statistics, as I told you in the previous answer). Here it is:
https://www.isical.ac.in/~deanweb/Revised-Brochure-BStat(2016).pdf
First of all, Statistics is a branch of Mathematics. To pursue your career with Statistics, it is very important to choose Mathematics/ Statistics just after Class 12th. I would personally suggest you not to go with JEE and all such things.
The common thing to become a statistician is to complete Bachelor's, Master and Post Graduation in Statistics. The degree awarded for Bachelor's in Statistics is B.Stat (Bachelor of Statistics). After that the second step is to pursue Master's i.e., M.Stat with Statistics.
Now, after that the main question is Where to pursue these courses/ degrees, What are the reputed colleges which offer these degrees/ courses. The answer is you are not required to study in a foreign university to pursue such courses. There are some Institutes ( very few ) in India which offer these degrees/ courses. The most reputed of all is "Indian Statistical Institute, ISI". This institute has many branches in India, Main in Kolkata, one in Bangalore, one in Delhi, etc.. Apart from this, there are some other colleges also such as "Loyola College", "St. Xavier's College", etc.. These institutes also offer these degrees.
You can check the admission process for all such Institutes by visiting their official websites one by one. However, ISI has a very few seats for B.Stat programme i.e., about 50 seats in total (i.e., only 50 candidates are selected out of all the candidates appearing for its Entrance exam).
After you complete your Graduation and Post Graduation in Statistics, you are called a Statistician. After that, you may be selected by a Government agency to work for them, or some other Reputed agencies to work for them.
For any other query regarding this, do let me know through comment section.
