Firstly if you want pursue CA I would suggest MEBA i.e mathematics, economics business studies and accountancy and SEBA (statistics) for easier CA ,CS and CMA exams.
If you want to be a bank official or apply for any government exam then both are good.

See both the institutes you have mentioned above are the elite institutes of India. So they both have some strategy to select students to keep up their elite status.

Dont stress out. To get good Mark's first keep proper noted, refer few external text book or reference books it helps alot.
Maths is a subject that needs practice, devote time only for maths separately so that you are focused.

As far as I know pragati mahavidyalaya does not have any open degree course for b.tech ,however to know better you must contact the college officials from their official website . Doing btech or bsc from open doesn't have much influence in future as you get equal chances
