kumardurgesh1802 12th Feb, 2025

Hello Himanshi,

Yes, after completing an M.Sc. in Cardiovascular Technology , you can assist surgeons during cardiovascular surgeries, but your role will be as a perfusionist or cardiovascular technologist , not as a primary surgical assistant.

Your Role in Surgery:

  1. Operating the heart-lung machine and monitoring blood circulation.
  2. Assisting in angioplasty, bypass surgeries, and valve replacements.
  3. Monitoring vital parameters during surgery.
  4. Providing technical support to surgeons and anesthetists.

    Limitations:
  • You cannot perform surgeries or make incisions like a surgeon.
  • To become a surgical first assistant , you would need additional training in surgical technology or a medical degree (MBBS + MS/MCh).

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Question : Select the correct direct form of the given sentence.
The surgeon says that I should get anaesthesia for the surgery.

Option 1: The surgeon says, “You should get anaesthesia for the surgery.”

Option 2: The surgeon says, “I should get anaesthesia for the surgery.”

Option 3: The surgeon said, “You should get anaesthesia for the surgery.”

Option 4: The surgeon says, “You could get anaesthesia for the surgery.”

Team Careers360 20th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: The surgeon says, “You should get anaesthesia for the surgery.”

Solution : The correct choice is the first option.

We know that the reporting verb remains unchanged when it is in the present tense, but the first-person pronoun is changed to the second-person in the direct speech.

Also, there would be the addition of commas and inverted commas in the direct speech.

So, the direct speech sentence would be: The surgeon says, “You should get anaesthesia for the surgery".
