No, It is not compulsory to stay at hostel for MBA at Symbiosis. There are very few colleges that have compulsory hostels. Symbiosis, Pune is one of the top colleges in India that offer oustanding placement opportunities and high quality education. The hostel is a complete optional part. It is for those students who want to opt for hostels and in case you are a resident of Pune or a person who doesn't wish to stay at hostels, you can opt for not choosing it.
Hence, It is not compulsory to stay at the hostel for MBA at Symbiosis, Pune.

You have a strong chance of being chosen for the list. However, if your luck holds and a large number of students opt out of the first or second list, you might be able to get in. The top 150 or 200 waitlisted candidates have a greater chance of admission, but the amount of lists supplied by Symbiosis College changes from year to year. Until then, keep exploring alternative options and keeping one or two ideas as a backup. Based on recent years' statistics, all I can say is that yours is a (50-50) type of instance.
