priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Oct, 2020

Compared to 2019, the NEET 2020 cut offs have changed considerably higher than expected. With the top score being 720 which is 19 marks greater than 2019's top score, it is difficult to predict chances. But based on the analysis of the experts, on the and going by previous years data, with this score a few Colleges that you may have a shot at, you have a chance in:

  • Coimbatore Medical College
  • Madurai Medical College
  • Dharmapuri Medical College

Having said that, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. For a complete list of colleges that you may have a shot at, please use our College predictor: https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer . Hey dear students!

For the procedure in central university of Tamilnadu, firstly you have to register for counselling. After counselling college will release merit list with your rank in a ascending order. And Merit list means the name of candidates who registered for the counselling. After that university will release cutoff and confirm your admission.

As you haven't mentioned which category you belong to I'm assuming you're from general category

Please mention which domicile you belong to because you'll be able to get into universities based on 85% state quota.

In case of Tamil Nadu counselling will be done by Directorate of Medical Education at http://tnmedicalselection.net/ , candidates can also go for offline counselling procedure in this case, after filling the application form the same needs to be sent to The Secretary,Selection Committee,162, Periyar E.V.R High Road,Kilpauk, Chennai-10, for more details regarding this, visit our page at https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/tamil-nadu-mbbs-counselling

I have got engineering seat in tamil Nadu. But if I also get medical seat will the fees be refundable from engineering

Mrinalini Sarkar 19th Oct, 2020

Hello,

As per AICTE till November 10 in any cancellation of seat the fees would be completely refundable due to this pandemic situation of COVID-19 as many families are suffering financially. The minimum amount deducted is Rs1000 for processing.

After November 10 if there is any cancellation of admission then the student has to pay the fees  till that time.

I hope this is helpful,

Good luck.

Anurag Khanna 20th Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

On such marks you have no chance to get any of the good medical college even on this marks you are just qualified for NEET but yes take a note that you can get seat through Direct admission which will be irrespective of your NEET score but the condition is that you must have appeared in Counselling and unable to secure any seat. So I would recommend you to take a drop and prepare for NEET 2021 and to help you in your preparation we have some resources which you can access from the link given below :-

My mark in neet 2020 is 431(SC category). Can I get government medical college in Tamil Nadu?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 17th Oct, 2020

Hi

It's quite difficult to predict that whether you will get  seat or not as  cut off marks for medical colleges keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.

But when we go through previous data then it suggests that with 431 marks   you hold  a  chance in a Government Medical College

For example,
in neet  2019, 360 marks for sc category got a seat in Government Karur Medical College, Karur    under  Telangana State quota

You also have chances in
*Government K.A.P.V. Medical College, Trichy

To get the complete list of colleges in which you have chances, you can go through our college predictor at

https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

It gives you a personalized report with top college in which you have chances for admission , with the help of predicted colleges you can make better choice while filling your choices of colleges during your counselling

Thankyou

As the results for first round has been announced for JOSAA Counselling, they have asked to submit certain certificates and amoung them is state of eligibility certificate. Is it required to submit it even belonging to the same state, eg, I belong to Tamil Nadu and I am about to join NIT Trichy.

Harsh Chandravanshi 17th Oct, 2020

Hi Aspirant!

If JoSSA is ordering to submit the details you have to submit the required document as mentioned in the procedure. But State of eligibility is considered according to 12th marksheet means from which state you complete your 12th schooling although we can not take chances as it is your career hence I recommend you to fulfill all the necessary guidelines.

I hope it helps.
