How is the competition and approx no. Of applicant for tissnet (tiss mumbai?) I am with engineering back ground should I give this exam?

Hello,
TISS-Net exam conducted for all courses of TISS attracted total applications in tune of 15-17k in 2013. Now this number doesn't reflect total applications received for a particular course but for all courses (around 20 masters level courses). For individual courses, application no. varies significantly with MA in HRM receiving maximum no. of applications, which should have been around 14-15 thousand (approximation only) in 2013. Also please keep in mind that TISS allows students to apply for maximum of three courses at one time i.e. a student might be applying for HR, Social Work and Health administration all at same time. So if a person is looking to know no. of applicants for a particular course, its best to connect with seniors of that course.

TISSNET 2018 shall be conducted on January 6th ,2018. Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) conducts a National Entrance Test (NET) exam known as TISSNET. The exam is conducted for all Masters programmes offered in TISS campuses at Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad, Guwahati, IMHST Chennai, MHAT Calicut and G-SET Ranchi. TISS does not offer any MBA programme. Instead, it offers MA in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations (HRM & LR) programme at its Mumbai campus. It also offers various other Masters degrees. TATA Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai conduct its own entrance test TISSNET. This exam offers the admission in around 55 Masters in social science programmes across the five campus Mumbai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Tuljapur and Chennai (Banyan). Yes, the date is announced as TISSNET 2017 will be held on 6th January 2018 (2:00 to 3:40 pm). Also, last date to submit the form online November 25, 2017 and form can be submitted by post till November 27, 2017.

There are four campuses of TISS Mumbai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Tuljapur (Maharashtra). The forms for this year have not started yet and are expected to start anytime in the first week of October itself.

TISS eligibility states:

Candidates with three years Bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognised university are eligible to apply.
Candidates studying in three and four-year degree programmes should have passed in all the subjects of semester 1 to semester 4 and semester 1 to semester 6 respectively.
Candidates studying in the final year of their degree programme are also eligible to apply.

Some of the top courses in TISS are:

MA in HRM and Labour Relations
MA in Development Studies
MA in Globalization and labour

The placements are good as the college is good. The competition is high to get into this college.

The average package you can get is approx 12-15 lakhs per year depending upon your skills and calibre.
