Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test
Hello aspirant, With an ST category rank of around 41,126 in TS EAMCET, your chances of getting Computer Science or ECE in top government colleges are very low, as the cutoffs for ST in those branches usually close much earlier. However, you still have a fair chance of getting branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, especially in the later rounds of counselling or spot admissions.
In private colleges, many good institutes offer these branches at higher ranks. You can aim for Mechanical or Civil Engineering in colleges like Malla Reddy, CMR, MVSR, or Aurora. Some of them keep seats open till very late ranks for ST candidates.
So yes, while top-tier CSE might not be possible, you definitely have a good shot at getting into private engineering colleges in core branches if you participate actively in all counselling rounds.
To check which colleges you can get through TS EAMCET based on your rank, you can use the TS EAMCET College Predictor Tool . This tool gives you a list of colleges and branches you are likely to get based on:

hi,
28,000 rank in TS EAMCET and as a BC-E (minority) girl candidate, getting a CSE seat in GRIET is difficult because the closing ranks for CSE in GRIET usually go much lower. For BC-E category, the CSE closing rank is mostly around 12,000 to 15,000. Your rank is higher than the usual cutoff, so the chance is low for CSE in GRIET. You can still try in counselling

Dear student, Yes, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) is considered a government institution under the central government, managed by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Ministry of Education). Since KVs offer education up to 12th standard and are recognized by CBSE as well as accepted by state authorities, completing your 10+2 from a KV is valid for fee reimbursement under TS EAMCET , provided you also meet the income criteria and belong to an eligible category (like BC, SC, or ST).
So, if you studied in KV, belong to the BC category, meet the income limit, and have a TS EAMCET rank around 13,000, you should be eligible for full fee reimbursement .
HEY THERE!!!
For the 2024 TS EAMCET, the category-wise cutoff ranks for leading institutions are as follows:
- JNTU Hyderabad and Osmania University (CSE): For Open Category (OC), cutoff ranks range between 500 and 600. For Scheduled Castes (SC), the cutoff is approximately 2,000.
- CBIT CSE (OC Girls): The cutoff falls between 2,200 and 2,300.
- VNR VJIET and Chaitanya Bharathi (IT): Both institutes generally admit students with ranks between 1,000 and 1,500.
- GRIET: Typically, candidates with ranks below 2,500 are eligible.
- Avanthi Institute (2025 projections): Expected cutoffs—OC Boys: up to 92,000; OC Girls: up to 1,10,000; BC-A: up to 1,25,000; SC: up to 1,00,000; ST: up to 1,40,000.
Dear Aspirant,
As a candidate from Andhra Pradesh who got a 5291 rank in the TS EAMCET, it is quite hard to secure a free or government seat in Telangana as a non-local under the current admission rules. The updated regulations state that 85% of the seats in Telangana engineering colleges are reserved for local students from Telangana. The remaining 15% is mostly considered for local candidates or specific groups, like the children of government employees in Telangana. Since you are classified as a non-local, your chances of getting a free seat in Telangana colleges through TS EAMCET counselling are very limited. However, you might still qualify for management quota or self-financed seats in private engineering colleges, although these usually have higher tuition fees. If you want a seat in Andhra Pradesh, you need to take part in AP EAMCET counselling, as Telangana EAMCET does not apply for admission in AP colleges. With your strong rank, you may find better opportunities in AP through its own counselling process.
