Hello Aspirant!!
The cutoff for vocational stream in TNEA counselling is calculated for 200 marks in which 100 marks is taken from the engineering related subjects and 100 marks is taken from the theory and the practical of the vocational subjects.
Engineering related subject can be either mathematics or physics or chemistry.
cutoff = ERS + (P1+P2+T)/3
where, ERS - Engineering related subject. P1 and P2 are practical marks and T- Theory subject.
For example, P1 - 90, P2 - 90, T - 80, MATHS - 80
Cutoff = 80+ (90+90+80)
=80 + (260/3) = 80 + 86.66 = 166.66
So the cutoff for TNEA vocational stream is 166.66 out of 200.
Hi Aspirant!!
Directorate of Higher Education, Tamil Nadu and Minister of advanced education have conveyed a press meet at the hour of distribution of twelfth Public outcomes.
During that press meet, he said that the application structure for TNEA 2021(Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) will begin from 26th July and closures following a month.
Expectation this data helps you!
Good luck!
Hi,
If you are applying for B.E or B.Tech then your rank is based on the marks you have obtained in 12th boards but it is reduced to 200 total marks. Your score in Mathematics out of 100 is considered along with both Physics & Chemistry marks out of 100 (& not 200).
If you tie with some other candidate then individual marks in Maths is checked & if there's a tie there too then marks in Physics is considered. For further tie, marks of any 4th subject is considered & in the end DOB is given importance, whichever person is older gets the seat.
If you are applying for B.Arch then your 12th board exam marks is considered out of 200 & your score out of 200 in the entrance exam NATA is taken. So, total out of 400 marks, whoever gets more will be given admission. In case of tie, the same rules will be applied as in B.Tech or B.E.
There are around 52 seats available for other states quota. These seats are distributed regionally, North, South, East and West. The approximate cut-offs for these regions according to recent years are as follows:-
South: 199.33 North: 193 West: 189 East: 187
This is for the unreserved category & it is subject to change every year. For the reserved category too, the cut-offs vary significantly so these data are not the exact accurate cut-offs but a generalisation as per previous records.
Hope this helps.
You can calculate the cut-off marks of TNEA exam by this method for Andhra Pradesh:
The total marks of Maths is 100, Physics & Chemistry is also 100 each so the total stands to be 200 for Physics & Chemistry but you need to take the average marks that means whatever you get by adding the marks of Physics & Chemistry, just divide that by 2. So, now the total marks becomes out of 100.
For eg:
consider your mathematics marks be 80/100, physics be 60/100 and chemistry be 40/100
cut-off = 80 + {(40+60)/2} = 130
So, you are getting 130 out of 200.
Cut off is out of 200. The procedure is the same for counselling process for other states including AP.
If there's a tie then individual marks in Maths then Physics then any 4th subject is considered & if there's a tie in all of them, which is rare, then DOB is considered & whoever is older is given more priority.
hi,
see cutoff score varies every year, it depends on some of the determining factors like number of applicant, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, students category and so on. we need your rank of tnea to predict probable college name.
do mention your rank in tnea counselling, then we may help you with necessary details.
hope you understand.
