Hello David!!
Engineering cutoff for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions is calculated based upon the formula as follows,
Cutoff = M + (P/2) + ( C/2)
where, M stands for maths mark, P stands for Physics mark and C stands for Chemistry mark.
For example,
Maths mark = 95, Physics mark = 93, Chemistry mark= 97, then the cutoff is
Cutoff = 95 + (93/2) + (97/2)
= 95 + 46.5 + 48.5 = 190
So the cutoff is 190 out off 200.
Hope this helps you.
Best of luck!!
Greetings of the day dear aspirant
The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. With marks of 191, it's hard to secure EEE seat in Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar (SSN) College of Engineering in Kalavakkam as the closing marks for CSE branch was 197.25 in the year 2017 for Open/General Category candidate. Its also not possible to secure EEE seat at PSG College as the closing marks for the same was 199 for Open category (OC) in the year 2017. You can try applying for other branches at these colleges or if you want EEE branch only, then you can apply for other colleges.
