I had completed my graduation in 2019 and I want to give cat exam in 2022 and I joined in a job just 2 months before. So, Is that okay for me to take admission in top B-schools?

ayanmukherjee045 21st Nov, 2021

Hello ameer,

I would recommend to kindly continue your job atleast 1 year and have a work experience because it has its own weightage in the cat interviews . But you should surely give an attempt this year and if you get what you aimed for then you should proceed ahead. But if you are not satisfied with your percentile then give the attempt next year.

Hii Aspirant,

As per your question you have the chances to fulfill your wish to be in top B-schools but you need to score more than 90 percentile to increase the chances of getting into top B-schools. So focus on your CAT percentile in order to reach your goal.

iam a bba graduate and took a drop after graduation for preparing mba entrances but didnt score well to get into top b-schools . so should I take admission in avg college and do cs along with it or should i go for LLB

pdwords Student Expert 17th Jan, 2021

Hello,

If you want to pursue MBA then there is no point in pursuing from any average school, eventually the sole purpose of doing the course is advancement in career with good pay package along with good learning experience(not only theoretical concepts but practical too taking into consideration) in terms of faculty, infrastructure etc  there are many entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, NMAT, MAT, SNAP, TISSNET etc, you can choose to appear for this year, else if law as a career interest you then LLB too is a good option, some of the top university such as Delhi University, Allahabad University, Banaras Hindu University to name a few conduct their own entrance exams, there are also state level LLB entrance exams such as KLEE, TS LAWCET, MAH CET LAW, AP LAWCET to name a few.

I got 89% in 10th ,49% in 12th and 64% in grad..so,am i eligible for top b-schools like ISB or IIMs,xlri??

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 20th Sep, 2020

hi,

see to get admission in mba or pgdm course of full time 2 years duration you have to appear in mba entrance test like cat/ xat/ mat/ cmat etc. cat stands for common aptitude test, which score is widely accepted in iims, tier 1 mba colleges like pumba, sp jain etc. the eligibility criteria to appear in cat exam is candidates must secure at least 50% marks in graduation level from a recognized university from any of the bachelors degree course. there is no age limit is applicable to appear in cat. so as per your score you are eligible to appear in CAT exam. now coming to your academic criteria , some of the top colleges like IIMS shortlist candidates based on academic score as well as cat percentile. so it may be quite tough to shortlisted for top iims, but since there is many colleges available you would get ample opportunity for application if you have excellent CAT score.

to know more about cat exam refer to our article about CAT, questions pattern, admission process to below link,

Hello,

Yes you may get calls or you can apply to the top B-schools for MBA and it is not necessary to have work experience for persuing MBA because some students do there masters just after they complete graduation and some do their masters after they have worked somewhere. That is up to you.

Hi i have 82% in Xth ,63% in XIIth and 68% in Graduation(B.Tech) and also have 3yrs of experience in IT sector . What percentile should i target in CAT to get admission in top B-schools. And i belong to general category.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 16th May, 2020

hi,

see cutoff score changes every year and it depends on candidates category, question difficulty level, seat matrix etc, however you need to work really hard to get more than 98 percentile in cat since your 12th and graduation marks is lower than 80%, however you may also do some courses on six sigma, corporate finance to boost up your resumes.
