no this is not possible .. you can do lateral entry btech but this option is only available after 1 year you can switch in second year only but not in 3rd year .

Admission in Bangalore university have already started in month of july starting on 9th and ended on 20th july. And admission was based on merit and marks scored in b.com.

Go through Page on www.bmsce.in . It lists all companies which visited the campus. You can figure out for yourself how many of them are core Mech companies.

Well, most people we know in BMS who wanted core companies, did get placed in core ones, though the pay is abysmal when compared against IT companies.

we are not sure exactly which companies turned up for Mech, but we do know people placed or waitlisted in Schneider, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, L&T and a construction company which is supposed to be very famous, but we forgot their name. And BMS Mechanical is supposed to be really better than PESIT Mechanical in terms of faculty, etc.

But yes, Mech does have a good core placement in BMS. There were quite a few companies which allowed only Mech or Mech & Civil as far as we remember. On the other hand, we have no clue about the core placements in PESIT.
