yes you need to specify the category under which you want to take admission. As the rank prepared by the university on the basis of which admission will be granted you will be considered under general category and your chances will decrease

Its just a misconception . It actually depends upon your profile. If your profile is good obviously you will be placed . So just focus on the co curricular along with the curriculum. Do more of social service, try doing internships of the area of your specification. This
