Mrinalini Sarkar 19th Nov, 2020

Hello,

As you have mentioned that you belong to OBC category so for getting admission in IIM Calcutta you need to be an excellent student. Your 10th and 12th scores are not that good but since you improved such tremendously I think that the older scores would not affect you so much but you need to score more than 85% overall to get admission.

Hope it helps.

Good luck.

i am doing msc chemistry,..suggest me best books ever for gate chemistry and CSIR NET JRF chemistry. and the best way to prepare to be a topper ?? pls i dont need a link only

Shoaib Akhtar 2nd Oct, 2020

Hello divya

Since I am from the same field as yours so I did like to have a small discussion over it . Since you want to be a topper you can join any coaching institute as they will provide you better guidance and more importantly better study materials .Or you can just buy some good study materials and read them by yourself to safe the time of spending classes . Take arihant (or another publications ) previous years solved papers .Which will give you a good idea . I personally don't want to recommend books as I think you must follow the syllabus and books usually have a lot more than necessary . But obviously if you can then you can chose books .But since you are in msc I don't think you have enough time now .

hello shubham

this year the 75% criteria was removed due to covid19 pandemic that too was announced after the board results ,so next time i can't say this will happen again or not . further NITs have their own admissions criterias so you can't blame them if you don't got admission .

best of luck for your next year and hope you will be the topper

i have 52% in board and jee main jee advance topper can i eligible for iit

S. Saha Student Expert 13th Sep, 2020
Yes, you can get admission in NITs as this year the 75% marks criteria or being in top 20 percentile if respective boards have been withdrawn.

This year it's a bit different. As all the subjects of class 12 of several boards have not conducted and marks have been provided on the basis of internal assessment and previous exam marks, many students have affected by these. So this year, the criteria of at least 75% or being in top 20 percentile has been withdrawn and all the candidates who have passed 12th examination and meet the Jee Main Qualifying cutoffs will be eligible to sit for Jee Advanced 2020. And You can get admission to NITs. You will have to only produce the passing certificate of class 12.
You can check the cutoffs of NITs here
