After clearing UPSC exam after thorough civil services you have come on the list of IFS probationers, you will go through an intensive training program. IFS officer training period is generally one year and 9 months long. The first training program will start at the LBSNAA( Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration ) in Mussoorie. In the first training program, the types of training that are given are:- trekking, horse riding in the Great Himalayas, and training of foreign language. After the completion of three months of training, the Foreign service Probationers are moved to the Foreign service institute which is located in JNU(Jawaharlal Nehru University) in New Delhi. The tenure for this training period is one year. After the completion of this training, probationers are assigned a CFL which is a Compulsory Foreign Language and is allocated at an Indian Mission like a Third Secretary where they learn about the foreign language for example:- Chinese, French, Spanish, Russian, or Arabic, etc. according to the Ministry’s requirement.
The academic year is divided into two terms, viz. Spring (Jan. to May) and Autumn (July to Dec.). A cadet must undergo training for a total of six terms before graduating from the NDA.

For commerce graduate or postgraduate students has to score at least 50% marks in their exams. And, for non-commerce graduate or postgraduate students, have to score at least 60% marks in their semesters. The candidates are eligible only if they have cleared the level of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants.
ITT and OP training must be completed before commencement of practical training for the graduate students / Post Graduate students who are taking direct entry in the CA Course. And in order to appear in the Intermediate examination, they need to successfully complete nine months of practical training.
The students who are appearing in the Intermediate examinations through the Foundation route are required to undergo 8 months of study period after registering for Intermediate Course.
The candidates who are there in the last year of their graduation can register for the Intermediate course on the Provisional basis.
However, they can commence practical training only on the successful submission of the proof that they have passed their graduation successfully with the specified percentage discussed above.

Yes you can surely become an IPS. The basic eligibility criteria states that you need to have a Graduate Degree from a recognized University/Institute. After this you can appear for CSE exam conducted by the UPSC which will be conducted in three stages (preliminary, mains and interview) and qualify each round in order to get selected for the training.
SO you can become an IPS officer after completing your Medical degree provided that you qualify the three stages of the UPSC CSE exam.
