What are the eligibility for studying undergraduate medicine degrees in UK? (Can i go there after class 12?)

Devanshi Adhikari 17th May, 2020

Hello aspirant,

To study in UK for MBBS degree the eligibility criteria for Indian students (CBSE or ISC) is that, the top universities/colleges generally require a minimum percentage of 90 – 95% in 12th (10+2) from a recognized board apart from the UK admission tests and NEET. For Internal Baccalaureate (IB) students, 37 – 39 points are required overall (to include core points) with at least 766 at a higher level, and 6/7 points in Biology and Chemistry. For Indian students, IELTS/TOEFL is also mandatory. Universities also conducts an interview for the final selection of students.

Thank you.

i want to do pg diploma in uk but i only got 53 percentage in 12th for english and now i completed my degree with 58 percentage .. can you plz suggest me a college that will accept me with this percentage.. plz i really want to study there.. plz help me with your advice

Sk Student Expert 20th Jun, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

The marks in your degree program is not a reflection of your comprehension of the English language and to standardize this you will have to write either International English Language Testing System (IELTS), OR Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). You need to achieve 90-92 in IELTS and TOEFL – 7.5 as your assessment percentage for meeting their minimum standards.

Since you have not mentioned your field of interest we are unable to suggest a suitable course that suits your career.

Good Luck

I want to do PG Medical in UK after completing my MBBS in here India what is the exact procedure for it how much it cost and what will be the duration of this course etc

Sohamsengupta8 19th Jun, 2020

Hello student,

Now a days this becomes a trend. Top doctors from India do their post graduation in UK for a long time. There are many universities in UK which offers the PG programs in various facilities. But at first you have to check your College MCi eligibility and recognition also. Most of the programs requires PLAB examination. SOME ALSO REQUIRED TO TAKE IELTS EXAMINATION. You should have minimum 7.5 marks in this to get a chance.

It costs about 20 lacs to 40 lacs for the study. But you can get a scholarship for that.

Hope this will help you.

I have backlog in my UG.Am I eligible if I cleared the CAT exam with a good score??

NAVEEN MEENA Student Expert 22nd May, 2019
Dear Sona, yes you can apply for CAT even with backlog. There is certain procedure for it.
  • You just need to select "Yes" to the question registration form that asks:
"Are you in the final year of Bachelor's Degree"
  • The only rule that exists here is you have to score atleast 50%.
  • The certificate from your isuuing University should be submitted before June 2019. Or you can submit a certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of University before 30th June--that would certify you as you have taken the supplementary examination and the results are awaited.

Hope this helps :)
