Well iif your name does not comes under the merit list being announced then I don't think that you will be able to apply for admission to any college because for that being in the merit list is required which is made by selecting students who clear the cut

Yes, Amrita university is a good option for B. Tech. in Computer Science Engineering. Placement record is very good at this college as last year more than 80% of the students were placed. The highest package offered was around 10 lakhs and average package offered was around 4-5 lakhs.
